It looks as if UEFA are not happy with our sale of our ladies team and therefore our finances.

If reports are to be believed (Ben Jacob's) we are negotiating an agreeable fine a financial restructuring, whatever that means!

I personally think any punishment from UEFA could be worse than is being reported. Hope I'm wrong. ?

I've said if before but if we are in breach of any governing bodies rules we will deserve any punishment that is dished out. I'm not going to bleat about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom, I agree if you break the rules you can’t complain. However, I will be angry with the owners for pushing the boundaries if it’s more than a financial penalty.

Jimbo, I agree the owners will have to take full responsibility for any punishment given by any governing body.

The buck will stop with the owners and I suppose the question is did they need to spend a billion to rebuild our squad bearing in mind the talented youngsters we already had in our academy.

It is no big deal. A fine will be paid and it will be business as usual.

Good. Ffp is a waste of time in football if we can just sell something to ourselves to get us out of the red.

FFP and PSR are a joke on lots of levels.

I would have agreed with you Tom before we had countries running football clubs.

Bill, I can understand that comment and concern but if the process that is meant to protect the game and make it a “level” playing field doesn’t achieve its main aim, what’s the point.

The only argument I ever bought into was to protect the fabric of clubs (financially) and that to me hasn’t worked either.

My view is if people/ consortiums/ countries want to spend money let them but make sure that everything they spend (not capital spend) is covered for at least a year by making the club buy a floating bond. That bond to be held by the governing bodies in case clubs owners go into financial meltdown. Any interest on the bonds should be paid into various football projects and that includes an amount going back to the owners.

I’m sorry I should have also added that there appears to be two sets of FFP/ PSR rules. That in itself seems strange to me!
