Congratulations Palace. Well pleased for them. As a kid it was a ground I always enjoyed going to and I was fortunate enough to have some of there players along with some Millwall players as our school football coaches.
In those days footballers needed two jobs to get bye.

Tom, agree nice to see Palace get a trophy especially for their long-standing and loyal supporters. That said, the game epitomised the boring nature of the PL; possession football v low block. The PL has been very weak and predictable this season. Liverpool won the title at a canter but frankly they are not that good although they do have a good coach. The PL is not the best in Europe; all the best coaches and players are at the top European leagues, with a few exceptions. It’s about time some people and pundits stopped deluding themselves.

I think football in Europe generally has slipped. We have three English teams in European finals and they certainly aren’t the best teams in the premiership.
Liverpool have deserved the title but with one or two exceptions any team can beat another team and in my opinion that’s what makes the premiership unique ish.
If yesterday’s game was some sort of advertisement for football long since gone then god help us. It was full of long ball rubbish.

Tom, the only European final worth being in is the Champions League. I don’t agree about European leagues slipping but I think the PL has and the top European clubs are more entertaining to watch; the PL has become boring to my mind.

I agree some of the “top European” clubs including in my opinion Liverpool are worth a watch but the rest are all much of a muchness.
PSG who in the semifinals had a tough time beating Arsenal and Barcelona (bonkers tactics) I’m happy to watch.

I thimnk the two matvches I've enjoyed most i terms of (yes bonkers in many ways! ) attacking skills and competitiveness were the two Champions League semis that featured Barcelona v Inter.

I agree Jimbo was boring as hell to watch, I think unfortunately raw talent is being coached out of players these days and football has become all about statistics, overloads and team shape. Flare players like Ronaldihno, Zola, Hazard, Messi just don't seem to really exist anymore and each game is becoming so much more tedious to watch. I actually blame Guardiola for the decline in entertainment.

JBS, I agree about the Barcelona v Inter games, they were both brilliant to watch. I was also fortunate enough to see Barcelona v Saville earlier in the year and that was amazing.
I’m a big follower of Napoli and the entertainment in that league is generally appalling.
My point is generally the football in England is dull but it’s just as bad across Europe for entertainment.

Whitey, I agree with you about Pep too many coaches try to duplicate his possession based football.
