Thankfully James should be back for the cup final. I can live with the mistake for the pen by Gusto, it's schoolboy stuff, letting the striker get across him like that and panicking but, as a one off, I can live with it. Problem is, it's not a one off for him, his form has been so poor and, when he's putting shifts like that in defensively, it's not like he's light the pitch up as an attacking full back. What must be going through Josh's head? How's he not got any starts at RB?
I thought we were done with the Chalobah and Tosin CB partnership. It doesn't work. Tosin might be a leader and older player in the dressing room, but, on the pitch, he's a mid table EPL defender, and that's being polite. Chalobah's nowhere near good enough to lift a lesser CB next to him and up their performance, especially when his has been so poor too. What must be going through Josh's head? How's he not got any starts at CB?

Tobbr honest, J. If I was Josh, I would ask for a permanent transfer.

Fingers crossed he waits to see who the new coach is. But, whoever it is, the club to set out a career path for him, that isn't getting the odd five mins in a game that's already lost.
For what it's worth, he'd fit into Alonso's three at the back really well, as would Hato and Colwill.
Bring in an experienced, dominating player to play the CCB role, and the defence can be transformed pretty quickly.

J, I totally agree and have been going on for ages about how is Gusto getting picked over Josh.
I also agree that if Alonso was to become our manager, Josh would do well in a three, along with Hato and Colwill, but maybe a bit like Dave, James would take that right CH spot.
I think Hoeness or Iraola will be at Liverpool next season, and it's more likely to be Hoeness.
So, I think our choices are Alonso or Iraola. My mate is 100% convinced we have already agreed terms with Alonso. I think I would prefer Iraola, as I think he will get more out of our current squad.

James would likely see time at RCB, but we all know he won't play every game, so plenty of mins to be had for Josh. Plus, with a more offensive WB on the left, James would suit as the more conservative WB on the right.
The two players who I don't think would fit seamlessly into Alonso's system are Cucurella and Enzo, which is something that may well suit the club and them.

Tom,
Absolutely agree, Tom. Shame about Hoeness, and, like you, I would like Iraola over anybody else who, to me, is the consolation prize.
Also, not sure if you noticed, but there are more protests taking place before the final and Spurs game. Be interesting to see if the numbers grow, stay the same, or decrease.

Bill, I will always support the right to protest, but what alternatives are they suggesting? For me, it's easy saying sack a manager, sell a player, sack the SD's, or get new owners, but put up some credible alternatives.
We might well get a new owner who is far worse than BlueCo and then what?

J, there are a few rumours that Bayern Munich want Gusto so maybe that will conclude that one. Josh has not really had a look in since Maresca left, and it is a mystery to me. Likewise, the decision to pair Tosin and Trev.
I also don't understand why Hato has been dropped, but those sorts of decisions happen with under qualified head coaches. We should bring Jose in for the cup final, park the bus, and hope to nick a 1 nil.
