Tom, is Iraola the right choice for a top club? He has done well at Bournemouth, but the same could be said of Potter at Brighton and Frank at Brentford. Managing Liverpool or Man Utd is a different kettle of fish. I think Alonso will end up at Liverpool.

My mate is very confident that Alonso has agreed terms with us already. So much so, he has had a substantial wager to back up his call. I thought Alonso was an absolute certainty for the Liverpool job, but for some reason, that is not the case.
My preferences remain Hoeness and Iraola, but I wouldn't be that upset if my mate picks
up some winnings!!

One thing I did not expect was Iraola to Palace, and, to me, this has highlighted an issue.
I totally get that we have to make sure we get this one right, but there are a number of teams that could be in the market for new coaches.
I just have a fear that, by the time we are ready, we will have the choice between Maco Silva or Marco Silva.

Bill, Iraola going to Palace is a bit of a surprise, but thinking about it is understandable. He will not be micro-managed by 5 SDs, and will probably have some influence on comings and goings. If this happens, Alonso is our last hope.
Tie it up quickly. Hoeness has never been on the club's radar. If Silva is appointed, that demonstrates our lack of ambition, and cements our standing as a mediocre mid-table club.

I think the next appointment will be a bad one, as I just cannot see the club getting it right, and by the time they are ready to make one, all the good coaches will have gone.
I read somewhere we are/we're looking at some 20 coaches. I wonder if that includes the Greyhound coaches in America.
