Hi Ed,

I just wanted to ask about John Terry, absolutely loved by Chelsea fans and hated elsewhere, to me it makes sense for him to be around the 1st team squad as some sort of coach but is always overlooked.
I do wish he would stop social media and not say he has no idea why he hasn't been asked or had a job in management.
As a player for Chelsea he was superb, as a person i'm not so sure.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Also for some reason i'd love Mikel to be our SD.

{Ed001's Note - I thought he was working as an academy coach there? If he was doing a good enough job they would soon promote him, though I would think they want to stop his Islamophobic social media postings first.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Terry was a great CB, but I have never taken to him as a person. I thought Ricky was a better all round defender.
As for Alonso, I think that is far from a done deal. I suspect there will be some twists and turns before the final outcome.

One to one, a really nice bloke, very strange family.

agree Tom.unless that ones a muslim then John might have other feelings. keep him far away from the club. a massive personal disappointment to be being a muslim and him being my footballing hero at a time

I'm sorry I have no idea what you are referring to. I will do some research. He was always charming to me and my family.

I did know his dad from way back, and he was a massive wrong un, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, Tom, he's made a pratt of himself with social media posts.

Not the first, and definitely not the last, but I've lost my respect for him big time.

Love JT, what a legend, love everything about him.

{Ed001's Note - even the racism?? Doesn't show you in a good light at all.}

No idea why you would say that greenaway when me and ed have both just mentioned islamophobia and racism. odd comment i'll assume you hadnt read past the original post.

Fortunately I don't have any social media to read whatever John has been saying. He was an absolutely incredible captain and player. He also shagged a teammate's wife, racially abused a black lad, and worst of all, wore full kits to games he didn't play in.

I will carry fond memories of him forever for the joy he brought us as the captain of the club.

At some stage I will look at his social media comments. It sounds like something he shouldn't be involved in, but, I repeat, he came across as a very nice bloke when I have had the pleasure of meeting him.

I think it's more what he liked on social media or gave a thumbs up to Tom.

Many years ago, I was out in a bar in Essex, used to go there a fair bit, kind of place where you know everyone. But, there was this older guy sat in the corner, making regular trips to the toilets, who no one knew. The next morning a friend called me, telling me to check out the News of the World - evidently, the older guy was John Terry's dad, you won't need two guesses at what he was doing in the toilets.

J, I have now briefly looked at some media comments about JT reposting comments about the burka. If I was advising him, I would suggest he keeps away from such topics.

J, I met his dad (over 30 years ago) about a personal security company. Let's just say he wasn't overly interested in the rules.

John Terry's dad certainly wasn't interested in the rules; he was convicted of drug dealing and his mum was given a caution for a shoplifting spree. Nice family.
