Hello Eds,

With Kepa struggling in recent weeks, is there any chance that the board might consider Frank's demands and bring Shay Given as the goalkeeper coach.

AfroBlue

{Ed002's Note - It is not a simple matter - he is employed by another club.}

1.) 10 Dec 2019 11:08:02
Thanks Ed002,

Is it known what might be affecting Kepa's performance because the last few matches there is a bit of sharpness that is missing from him. For instance, ball distribution where he was exemplar under Sarri, he seems to struggle in that area and at times it looks like he is inviting trouble when passing the ball.

In your own opinion, is it something that should be addressed in training or is it something he will have to work on himself.

{Ed002's Note - He will work on it in training.}

players go through stages where they have a dip in form. it's quite normal. I don't think we need to get to worked up about it. he was playing excellent only a few weeks ago.

3.) 10 Dec 2019 15:43:55
Very valid comment JCFC.

Hello Ed001 hope you are well.

What do you make of Nicolo Barella. and is there any interest from Chelsea for the player?

Thanks.

AfroBlue

{Ed001's Note - according to the club and at least one of his team-mates, yes there is interest from Chelsea. Naingollan was talking about it and how he thinks the lad is his successor for Inter, which would make sense. Cagliari have ruled out a sale in January and Barella himself has said his family are Inter fans and he would be keen to move there. He has also made it known he wants guaranteed first team football and talked of an interest in joining Liverpool, not so long ago, which sparked off rumours of him signing. I think he is just one of those players who is looking for a move and is touting himself, rather than he was especially interested in joining Liverpool or particularly interested in Inter. He does talk a little too much about other clubs for my liking, it feels disrespectful to Cagliari for me.

I have to be honest, I have not seen a lot of him playing, when I did see him there were some nice touches etc, but overall he was unimpressive. Like I said I haven't seen a lot and as the likes of Pirlo and Naingollan are saying he is top class and they have seen a lot of him, I would personally bow to their wisdom on this.}

1.) 18 Dec 2018 08:29:57
"some nice touches. " I'm of the same view especially when you look at his long range passing abilities. He's a young talent and could attain great heights of the likes of Pirlo, hopefully his glut liking of other clubs won't come in his way.

. and hopefully we snatch him.

Thanks Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - I think, to be fair to the lad, that he is being asked leading questions by journalists and so can hardly say "f off I wouldn't join that shower if they paid me a billion". But it still does not look good and he would be better off batting the questions away and just talking about Cagliari.}

2.) 18 Dec 2018 08:50:28
Just curious. is this usually the case with Hazard and Real Madrid?

{Ed001's Note - no mate, he is not being led in that respect, he is leading the conversation. It was the same thing as Lukaku kept doing while at Everton, when he spent his entire time talking up the prospect of a move. Hazard is just desperate to move to Madrid, though it is beyond me why he is so keen on them. They are a mess and his career is too short to be taking a chance that they will avoid the kind of decline Man Utd have suffered.}

3.) 18 Dec 2018 09:32:39
Ed do you mean according to chelsea or cagliari there's interest? And do you mean his italy teammates like jorginho maybe?

{Ed001's Note - Cagliari and I meant a team-mate at Cagliari. Sorry, that wasn't very clear I realise now.}

4.) 18 Dec 2018 09:42:27
Ed can i ask which teamate/ s,

{Ed001's Note - I don't know if I can say to be honest, without checking, I wouldn't want to get him into trouble.}

Potter needs to be sacked ASAP!

AfroBlue

{Ed014's Note - that is a top quality post! ?‍♂️?

1.) 01 Jan 2023 18:32:29
Ed, not the first to to make such a statement.

{Ed014's Note - amazing, patience is very thin then Tom

2.) 01 Jan 2023 18:34:15
Need to move a few on not sure if it's Potter's fault or not but should be kept to the end of the season but he has a bit of a feeling of Villas Boas.

3.) 01 Jan 2023 18:35:21
Spoilt with success Ed.

{Ed014's Note - truly Tom

4.) 01 Jan 2023 19:09:12
Ed014and Tom, you are both right to an extent. Never seen some of these posters before. However, I don’t have any guilt about Chelsea’s success over the last 15 years, I am old enough to have suffered a lot of pain.

Leaving aside any players we might bring in our squad is good enough to do better. I think most people accept that Potter is a good coach but the real test will be if he can “manage “ a top club.

I am assuming we will sign a couple of players who could go straight into the first team and that they are Potter’s choice: so let’s see how the rest of the season goes. I do understand people’s frustrations given the amount of money we have spent of players.

{Ed014's Note - I can say from my side and I’d imagine Tom may agree but comments were not aimed at the likes of yourself Jimbo.

From his time at Brighton it’s clear for me he’s a quality coach but your squad is a bit all over the place and injuries haven’t helped him.

Think it would be a mistake for the owners to bin him off so soon but you can never say never in this game.

5.) 01 Jan 2023 20:06:00
Mine was a general comment on how clubs react to a run of poor performances.

It also applies to fans who generally blame the manager. I have a guy who sits almost behind me in the MHU who hasn’t stopped going about GP “deserves to be sacked” or “he is out of his depth” for weeks.

6.) 01 Jan 2023 20:13:45
Owners mistake we’re allowing tuchel to have such a say in signings knowing they wanted Tuchel gone, right or wrong decision it wasn’t ideal,

7.) 01 Jan 2023 21:21:23
New poster but a Chelsea fan since the days of Osgood and Hudson etc, really want Potter to be a success, time will tell but he needs to inject some pace and hunger into the team Chukwumeka looks if he could be useful, would be happy if this time next year we were showing progress and starting to play some attractive stuff. Agree with the post about our reliance on Reece.

8.) 01 Jan 2023 21:40:06
Ed014, I didn’t take it that way Ed. I have doubts about Potter but I had doubts about Drogba- so what do I know. Someone posted that we are a laughing stock which is ridiculous- we would be if we sacked Potter now. He hasn’t had a chance to bring in players of his choice, I would give him until the end of next season to make a proper decision. I presume that players coming in in the next windows will be Potter’s preference. I would like him to give some of the younger players a chance: other clubs in Europe seem to be more willing to do so. I don’t know the age profile of our posters but I doubt if many of them drove up the M1 frequently to go to places like Bolton and Blackburn when Chelsea were in the old 2nd Division when Eddie Mc Creadie was the manager: count your lucky stars. I wasn’t driving then it was my mate in his Ford Zephyr.

{Ed014's Note - Ford Zephyr now that was a car! Glad you didn’t mate and so many of the younger generation are all about the glory.

I really think he’ll do a good job, especially when he gets the players he wants and was kind of hoping you didn’t get him.

My mate nearly bloody killed me in a 3 litre Ford Capri when I was a kid! ?

9.) 01 Jan 2023 23:16:16
Ed014, one of my mates went out with a girl just because she owned a yellow Ford Capri, even then I thought he was a bit shallow: he wasn’t a Chelsea supporter.

{Ed014's Note - a classy guy then ?

sorry if I'm missing something but did Frank attempt to bring Given with him when he originally joined us?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

09 May 2019 15:01:23
Tonight could be Eden Hazard's last ever game at Stamford Bridge. One of the greatest to ever wear the Chelsea kit. If it is the case, then it has been a pleasure to watch this man over the years.

AfroBlue

1.) 09 May 2019 15:24:13
Well we shall see if he gives the crowd a farewell. 1 of our all time greats.

2.) 09 May 2019 18:04:51
Hopefully we can win the game early (not writing anything off after last two days) then sub him off to a fantastic reception. Won’t be top tier as good as Lampard, JT or Drogba for me but he is by far the best Chelsea player I’ve enjoyed watching. He gets you off you’re seat.

22 Apr 2019 10:10:13
Hi Eds,

Pablo Sarabia of Sevilla, I understand Chelsea had an interest in him. What are your thoughts on him/ has the situation changed. Much appreciated.

AfroBlue

{Ed002's Note - Sarabia is a decent player who has found consistency.}

1.) 22 Apr 2019 10:49:06
Are we still interested in him?

2.) 22 Apr 2019 13:46:45
Ed what position is he being looked at for by chelsea?

3.) 22 Apr 2019 23:51:44
Guys Ed has said he's not going to give us information again. Please don't harass him for it. It will just make him more unlikely to contribute with anything.

05 Aug 2018 19:19:24
Hazard, Azpi, Jorginho, Kante are the only top players we have. We really are going to be in trouble if one of them picks up an injury this season (May God forbid) . Last seasons thrashing by Watford and Newcastle shall be the norm.

NB: I totally support Sarri. It's the board that has me a bit gutted.

AfroBlue

1.) 05 Aug 2018 20:25:10
I think Azpi is a quality defender. But I’m not sure if he’s a quality RB in a Sarri system. It will be interesting to see. His passing was poor today when he got pressured.

2.) 05 Aug 2018 22:05:15
You need to watch the way you speak about azpi king frank.

3.) 05 Aug 2018 22:47:47
KingFrank I made this your exact same point about Azpi not been optimal for that RB role anymore some weeks back. I prefer Moses for that RB role currently cos it might be easier for Moses to adapt to that position than Azpi. If Azpi is to play RB again, it will take him some time to adapt and be excellent at that role. You can see how difficult it is for Alonso to adapt again to LB role (from the left wing back position that he was used to) . My fear for Azpi is that he might not be optimal too- playing in a two man central defense, if the coach was to move him to centre back.

4.) 06 Aug 2018 08:09:40
Frank - been saying this for a few months now. As good as Azpi has been, his performances have dropped. He doesn’t look happy at right back. I love the bloke, but feel him and Alonso are there to be got at every game. Alonso is particular. He’s awful.

5.) 06 Aug 2018 13:04:28
I feel It is easier to convert an ageing (experienced) player from RB/ LB to CENTRE BACK than from CENTRE BACK to RB/ LB.
I also think that it's easier to convert a Wingback to a fullback than convert a centre back to a full back.
It's like water flowing uphill (very difficult) - trying to convert a Centre back to a wingback.

NB- The position of a WB > FB require players with relatively more mobility compared to a centre back; and mobility is one thing that reduces with age.
In conclusion, Moses and Zappacosta should be adapted to become our RB (right full backs) while Alonso and Emerson should be adapted to become our LB (left full backs) . Azpi will defend better than Moses or Zappacosta in the box, but he would slow us down when the fullbacks need to attack (or overlap) and if our full backs aren't overlapping, we can't say that we are attacking team.

going loko down in bakayoko - Don't get your knickers in a twist, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

Yes, by all means let's get Sandro, but we would be out of our mind to include Azpi in that deal. After all the hard work, consistency and dedication Dave has shown, he should be among the players in the NOT FOR SALE list.

Anyway, thanks God its rubbish.
