Costa back to Atletico Madrid
We bidding for Gonzalo Higuain
Courtois off to Liverpool or Real Madrid
We bidding for Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Matic off to Manchester United
We bidding increased offer for Radja Nainggolan
We bid for Samir Handanovic
Oscar wants to stay to prove himself
Chelsea bid for Kwadwo Asamoah.

courtois to liverpool

{Ed002's Note - Already done.}

2.) 11 May 2016 15:49:12
What we talking about on the bus to Liverpool for tonight?

3.) 11 May 2016 16:09:15
HIGUAIN - all day long - ain't going to happen though.

4.) 11 May 2016 17:09:57
I would let Costa go, take Higuain, Courtois gone we are told, not unhappy if we got Mkhitaryan as he assists and scores, we can do better than Matic, I would prefer others but could accept Nainggolan, no to Handanovic and Asamoah and sadly Oscar has had his chance.

5.) 11 May 2016 20:44:34
What has happened when you woke up?
Since nothing of this will happen.

6.) 11 May 2016 18:06:01
Wow Ed002 was joking. so gullible!

7.) 11 May 2016 22:16:00
I think that's why they call it silly season antibot!

8.) 12 May 2016 23:14:25
I interpreted ed saying already done just to mean courtois was listed already in the original post.

There's a picture circulating of JM taking training this morning and the man looks ill. Something seriously went wrong at the Club.

To ease the tension before tomorrow's big game I would be interested in opinions regarding Cech v Courtois. I have been fortunate to see all Chelsea's goalkeepers from the 1950's but given the modern game I think Cech is the best we have had. To me, Courtois's only advantage over Cech is his willingness to come for the ball and catch it whereas Cech always punched. Other than that I have never been overly impressed with Courtois's positioning and all round shot stopping and feel we would have achieved all we have since Cech's departure if he had remained.

C1915

1.) 11 May 2017 20:30:29
I agree cech has been our best keeper. But have to disagree with you on tibo's shot stopping, I think that's one of his strongest assets mate.

2.) 11 May 2017 20:51:55
T-Bo is a very young good keeper but he's nowhere near Cech for me. He doesn't command his box as well as Cech did and as good as his form has been he just doesn't seem loyal to me I always think he might leave. Apart from Sunderland away two years ago I've never felt as if he's won us the game on his own.

3.) 11 May 2017 23:21:03
I'd say Cech - but mostly because he was with us longer and achieved so much more. On a performance level, I also prefer Courotis' habit of coming out and grabbing crosses. Shot stopping I'd rate them about equal on their day and though Courtois gets caught out once in a while, so did Cech, and neither very often.
I suspect Cech benefited from being behind a defense organized by John Terry in his prime.

If Courtois sticks around and shows up for the big games I think he could become the best, but that's no sure thing.

4.) 12 May 2017 05:12:30
I still think it's too early to judge Thibauly vs Petr in his prime. As others have stated, I can't remember a keeper that was so agressive at catching crosses as Thibault is and his shot stopping is pretty tremendous. I also agree with the sentiment that Cech had the best left back and centrehalf in the world in front of him when he was in his prime.

A shame we did not turn up last night but all credit to Spurs as they deserved the win as we did not really create anything. As good as our run has been it gives a reality check and I think we need to get another attacking forward and someone on the left side, as much as Pedro and Alonso have exceeded my expectations I do not think they are the answer. The current set up is certainly capable of taking six points in our next two games and those points given other fixtures could be some of the most important from now on in.

C1915

1.) 05 Jan 2017 11:48:46
We didn't create much however we had some very good opportunities (Hazard had two clear chances and Costa had 2-3 efforts) .

05 Dec 2016 10:37:10
I thought Guardiola handled the post match interview with class albeit his English is not so good. If that had been Mourinho it would have been everyone's fault but his or the team.

C1915

1.) 05 Dec 2016 15:08:25
His moronic and sarcastic applauding of the ref during the match itself when City were awarded a free kick late on was anything but class and reminded me of Jose. Also, the way he stared at Steve Holland when we took the lead was pathetic.

2.) 05 Dec 2016 18:12:29
Everyone soon forgot that terrible early tackle on hazard from Fernandinho, that's was a bad tackle. Man City can go on about that Louis incident blocking aguero. But they played some dirty football to get 1 nil up.

3.) 06 Dec 2016 00:09:38
Aguero has always been a dirty player I remember a few years ago, before we sold Luiz, Aguero kicked out against him while he was on the ground and got away with it. By the way, many saying we were lucky but last I checked you have to take your chances in football, (and Hazard should have been more selfish and scored 2 instead of trying to square the ball) and Chelsea were the only team to score - 4 goals thanks to Cahill taking his chance brilliantly.

Apologies to Cat, he said we would 'smash them' and I thought that too strong BUT we did. Manchester were unbelievably poor and we may have dodged a bullet NOT getting Pogba as he looks like he will not be for our league more than a season. Off the pace and wanders. Hats off to Conte as Moses is proving a very useful addition on the right.

C1915

1.) 23 Oct 2016 19:44:45
They didn't know who to mark down the wings. And they couldn't leave 2 on hazard either. So glad conte has gone to his at the back.

2.) 23 Oct 2016 20:15:36
Blimey c1915, is that a half full glass Tonight? Brilliant performance. 3 straight clean sheets as well. Mathew Harding, you would of enjoyed that. cheers.

3.) 23 Oct 2016 21:07:12
G8: It was more an apology to Cat. We did play very well but Man Utd were poor bordering on clueless. Personally I would play Chaloabah in place of Alonso.

4.) 23 Oct 2016 23:41:52
Chalobah as a wing back 😂.

5.) 24 Oct 2016 08:13:03
GoE: I am sure they said that about Moses. He's quick, passes well and stronger in the tackle than Alonso.

6.) 24 Oct 2016 19:03:26
To be honest I thought we would smash them after watching them against Liverpool, I just thought if they play 6 at the back and people like hazard William / pedro will rip them apart, and they will offer nothing going forward, I thought at absolute worst and I'm talking we have a shocker we would get a 0-0.

These banter pages are supported by Chelsea fans who have a wide and varied idea of what's good for the club and naturally the club do not pay any attention; however they MUST see most of what we do. If you asked 100 of us for our opinion you would get multiple differing thoughts but the underlying answer would point to dramatic change needed. Surely people must see that over the last eighteen months to two years Chelsea FC seems to have completely lost its way. We won the title comfortably but not convincingly, certainly the second half of the season was very average and it was clear we needed to upgrade for the next campaign. Our buys during pre-season were dreadful, borne out by who they were, how they performed and where they are now and of course we had a dreadful season especially as defending champions. As we came into this season having won the youth cup four times out of five years and the European equivalent in 2015 and 2016 we do not apparently have a single, serious contender for the first team and in the transfer window, in my opinion, buy two players out of desperation (Alonso and Luiz) for ridiculous money, added to last year and we are wasting money, not adding any value to the squad with the purchases and do not seem to have a coherent transfer policy. This season has already highlighted the issues we complained about last year; half the team are not good enough yet we recycle Ivanovic, and Co week in and week out and have a £30m+ player warming the bench. There will be those that disagree with my opinion of Alonso and Luiz but I guarantee not one person had them on their 'must buy' radar and I am worried that we have another harrowing season ahead with the players at our disposal.

Simeone has said he will see Atletico into their new stadium and he will leave the following season. Conte rumours are intriguing as it is the second time they have surfaced and a long, expensive contract with control over transfers must be attractive as he won't get that at Chelsea and the numerous 'come and go' buys have been frustrating for the fans so must be far worse for the manager.

I always felt Courtois was over hyped and that is not because he keeps threatening to leave. He is good coming for the ball where Cech would punch but as a shot stopper Cech was and probably still is, vastly superior. I like Butland but I think Chelsea have been watching Handanovic for some time. If it is the case WHY say so now when we are just into the season; if Conte knows that is the case he would do well to leave him out.

Traore's issue is the need to bulk up a bit and Kenedy is not a left back, attacking wing back maybe but I see him as a left winger.

Fuser: I totally agree with Lindelhof as back up and potential but that is not our current issue, we need somebody substantial now as in the pre-season we have been found wanting. I would be a little concerned also paying the price that has been thrown around for a player with so little big game experience, that said I am aware we are in a sellers market.

I cannot see the attraction in Victor Lindelhof. We need an experienced centre back not potential. He has played less than thirty games for Benfica over three seasons, surely not the answer to our problem. This and Lukaku have that desperation feel to them; the CB is an issue but Icardi if we could get him is far more mobile than Lukaku and knows where the goal is and cheaper.

G8:I said earlier I like Ake but he is not a full back, more a wing back. Yes, he did make a mistake but to be fair what player doesn't. Zouma to me has not progressed. He was injured badly but just before I felt his mobility was too sluggish against pacy teams and I am not so sure he is Conte's type of player anyway. To make an impression in Europe as well as our league we need to strengthen what we have.

dihanio: Have to disagree I am afraid. Kane got his chance and took it, Bats has obviously not shown a great deal in training to Conte so gets bit parts and still has shown nothing out of the ordinary. At 23 Kane looks Premiership, Bats at the same age does not. He is young but not a youngster and we will almost certainly buy one or two that would sit ahead of him. However, it is all about perception, I don't see the fascination with Christensen whereas many here think he could be our saviour.

Cfc17: He's 24 in October, cost £33m that is not young if a player is going to make it and the fee. well! He is the same age as Harry Kane and I would take him over Bats. Personally, I think we will cut our losses as we need more firepower up front if we are going to progress in Europe. However, as I said, five people with diverse views of players and the game.

Strange how we all see different things in a game. I don't see any future at Chelsea for Bats or Kenedy, Bats being no more than Championship quality. Chalobah has one of Loftus-Cheek's tendencies, ambling but if that is knocked out of him I prefer him to RLC. I think Ake fits into the squad nicely, calm with a nice left foot but not at full back. Willian was superb I just wish the end product was better; with his work ethic I think he would make an excellent wing back. What a difference when Kante plays and his passing improved.
