How many world class players do we have? (difficult to be totally objective so for the purpose of debate I will re-phrase it, how many of our players get into the majority of teams around the globe? ) . For me, Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella are all worth a shout.

RPD, it’s always difficult to define world class. I don’t think there is any player who is clearly best in the world in their position. So there is 4 or 5 perhaps. So choose 4 or 5 who are better than the players you have mentioned. I think they all are in or close to the top 5 . Just my opinion.

I like that Jimbo, makes sense. What 2 Tom? I think you can add Enzo Fernandez to that list and when fit Reece James.

Greenaway, I’m not a fan of the term “World Class. ”
I think our best and most important player is Caicedo. Palmer can be a match winner and shows moments of brilliance. Enzo is a World Cup winner and is only now beginning to show us how good he is. James, when fit is a top class RB and a very good athlete. Cucarella, after a very poor start has become a very important player for us and his country.
I think Neto and Colwill have the potential to move into the top class bracket
The scary thing is I expect them all to improve.
Nothing has materially changed since my end of season assessment.

In my opinion, there are no world class players around.
The days of Best, Pele, Ronaldo and Messi seem a distant memory.

Bill, the best player i have ever “seen” was Greaves. That was mainly because of how he could influence games with goals and magic moments.
My guess is that if fans are asked about supposed world class players or favourite players there choice will all have similar attributes to Greaves.
So, nowadays I try to look at players as how good they are now or how good they were, in there best position. I hope that makes sense.

Good question, for me I'd say which one of our players would get in any other team in the world. On that basis, Palmer, Caicedo, Cucu and possibly Enzo and James. For me there isn't another player from any club I would replace these with.

Steve, that test is probably as good as any.
Bill, football is completely different now, it’s difficult to compare players from the past to recent ones. It’s like comparing Usyk with Mohammed Ali or Joe Frazier. As for footballers you forgot to mention Cruyf and Moore.
