Good luck to Felix. Hope the move works out well for the lad.
I think he is a good player but just lost his way, hopefully for just a while.
29 Jul 2025 21:49:59
Felix doesn’t need luck with the money he will be getting. I just hope we don’t waste the money we get for him on Garnacho which would be repeat of the money we got for Gallagher and then spent on Felix.
29 Jul 2025 22:36:23
I personally have no interest in the money he has earned or may earn, good luck to the lad. I just hope he gets back to being the player he once was.
We could just as easily say I hope we use the Felix money to buy Hato or Simmons. Both in my opinion would be excellent additions to our squad.
30 Jul 2025 08:22:32
Tom, you might not be interested in the money but fortunately for us Felix is- he has got us out of a hole. Obviously, any money we receive from sales is one pot and I don’t want to see any of it wasted.
30 Jul 2025 08:45:16
You are correct it’s for Felix to worry about his money not anyone else. I certainly don’t begrudge him whatever he earns.
We will make mistakes in the transfer market that’s a certainty but I have no idea how or on whom any Felix funds will be recycled.
Us potentially signing Garnacho seems to have created a lot of negative reaction. I know nothing g about the lad and I only generally watch Utd when they play us, so I really can’t say I have a view on him as a player. The Utd fans I know all seem to dislike him as a person rather than a player.
30 Jul 2025 09:25:15
And that there in a nutshell is why we must not go after him.
30 Jul 2025 09:42:07
Bill, my guess is the Utd fans don’t like him because he has probably fallen out with the manager or more likely in this day and age said something on social media.
As far as I know he could be incredibly motivated to be a winner and has made it known he doesn’t want to play for the Utd sh#t show. Other than that he could be the nicest young man in North West England. I wouldn’t have a clue!
I’m also guessing but I would think all SD’s consider a players attitude and personality before they sign them.
{Ed001's Note - they don't like him because he is a dick and not a very good player, who likes to throw his toys out of his pram. Added to being an arse on social media, picturing himself wearing a Rashford Villa shirt etc.}
30 Jul 2025 10:29:40
Tom, it’s not that they don’t like him: they don’t like his attitude and disloyalty to their club and he is not a good player “all fur coat and no knickers”.
30 Jul 2025 10:33:37
As I say, i personally wouldn’t have a clue about his personality or very much about him as a player. Strangely I watch more Dutch football, German football and Napoli than I do Utd.
30 Jul 2025 10:56:41
Jimbo, I’m obviously happy to take on board other people views on Garnacho as a player and his personality but as I keep saying, I personally haven’t got a view on his playing abilities.
Obviously if he is cr#p and has a poor attitude it would be silly to sign him permanently. Maybe a loan offer may tempt Utd, that way we get him in approval.
Also I’m so happy that we have signed Gittens and potentially Simmons, I’m not sure we need him anyway.
30 Jul 2025 10:58:06
Tom, you are back-peddling. I find it difficult to believe you were unaware of Garnacho’s antics on social media.
30 Jul 2025 11:56:12
Jimbo, please don’t try and guess my awareness of other clubs players “social media antics. ” I have nothing to gain by saying I don’t know anything about the lad.
I can hardly “back pedal” when I know virtually zero about a persons personality or playing abilities.
I’ve got an idea. He is a total t#rd bucket and a sh#t player because other peoples views tell me he is. If that’s the way you make your judgement that’s up to you but I will reserve mine until if and when he becomes a Chelsea player.
In the same way I wouldn’t be bullied into saying that EM should be sacked, I will not be bullied into taking a view on a person I know virtually nothing about.
30 Jul 2025 13:36:33
Tom, you have tied yourself up in knots and are being defensive : nobody is trying to bully you into changing your opinions. As for Garnacho, I am not surprised with your response, you have a penchant for supporting hopeless causes.
30 Jul 2025 13:56:34
Let's hope you won't need to see him in a CFC shirt Tom.
30 Jul 2025 14:33:28
Jimbo, I certainly don’t believe I’m invariably right on every subject and I’m very happy to admit when I’m wrong and that is quite often.
I repeat, I’m not going to judge people’s character or ability without having seen them behaviour and play over a period of time.
If you consider a person/ player to be a “hopeless cause” that’s up to you but I will only make my judgement over a period of time.
Bill, if I was the sort of person who just followed other peoples opinions, then I guess you are right, I shouldn’t want to see him playing for Chelsea. The issue is I don’t follow other peoples opinions, I make my own mind up over a period of time that I think is sufficient.
I may well have a negative or positive view on a player we are looking to sign after seeing him play several times for another club but I’m not going to give a view on a player that I said on the outset of this thread I know virtually nothing about.
30 Jul 2025 14:45:42
I could also have mentioned that on this site Sterling when signed not only got criticism as a player he also got (from some) abuse about him as a person.
I have had the very good fortune of meeting Sterling during some charity work and he was perfectly charming. Giving his time freely and to everyone involved. So, from my “”personal” experience he is a very nice bloke and that’s how I will judge him as a person.
As for him as a player I was prepared to give him a chance. Sadly I was wrong.
30 Jul 2025 15:04:27
Tom, that sounds fine but earlier you said that we might make two excellent signings regarding players that have never played for Chelsea in the Premier League which sounds like you have made judgements about players who have not played for us over a period of time.
30 Jul 2025 16:37:19
Jimbo, OMG, I have said I have watched more German and Dutch football than I have Utd. I also said I don’t watch Utd games other than when they play us.
From watching so much Dutch and German football in my opinion Hato, Simmons would be good signings and Gittens is a good signing.
I can freely give my opinion on that signing and potential signings because I’ve watched them play several times. I have hardly ever seen Garnacho play. Surely I’ve explained this several times!
30 Jul 2025 17:58:43
Tom, I said you have never seen them play for the club in the PL over a period of time ; something you said would decide your opinion on players. Myself, Amorim, the Man U fan base, Chelsea Supporters have seen Garnacho play in the PL plenty of times and no one thinks he is a decent player . So what’s the difference between that view on Garnacho and your view on two potential signings you have seen several times in weaker leagues.
30 Jul 2025 18:37:50
I’m honestly thinking of giving up.
I have seen Hato, Simmons and Gittens play for there respective clubs and I think they are good players and good signings. I will judge them as Chelsea players (usually over two seasons) and then give my assessment on them as Chelsea players. Just to show how wrong I can be (I admit to being wrong) I thought the likes of Nkunku and Morata were also good signings but they disappointed me as Chelsea players.
I’m not sure I can make this any clearer but here goes. I have NOT seen Garnacho play other than when we have played Utd and I can’t even remember seeing him then. So I cannot make a judgement on him as a player.
As far as “no one thinks he is a good player” that is up to them. I’m giving my view not other peoples. I will also never be bullied into changing my opinion.
30 Jul 2025 20:37:52
Tom, I reiterate, no one is trying to bully you. You have missed my point, so let’s leave it there. Incidentally, you have forgotten Werner, who I also had high hopes for but was very disappointing.
30 Jul 2025 21:03:31
There are lots of players I prefer to forget. The worst for a long while was the man with a “wand of a left foot. ” Ziyech.
31 Jul 2025 17:51:05
ironically ziyech was 100x the player garnarcho is or ever will be. he joined at a difficult time and never got any momentum going. much better player than he got to show for us although he had a few bright moments.
31 Jul 2025 18:39:41
Kaz, if that is the case god help because he was definitely one of our worst ever signings in my opinion. It might have been a very difficult time for him to be playing for us but there is no excuse for poor work rate.
01 Aug 2025 07:15:45
Think if Garnacho is purchased it is purely to flip him in a couple of years for profit, has pace to burn is young, but we don't really need him .
Doesn't come across to me as the most likeable guy but that's possibly because he wears red.
