With JT out for Friday's game against Liverpool, I was wondering what team everyone thinks we should put out.
Whilst I agree with most the posters; that without Cesc we lack a link between defence and attack and lose creativity, I don't think he should be starting against Liverpool as he won't get any time on the ball with their pressing style.
The rest of our front 6 can stay the same although perhaps Moses or Pedro should start in place of Willian. Either way we should be targeting LB even if that means playing Hazard out on the right.
Defence is a difficult one. On the one hand I definitely don't want Iva starting as RB as he'll be ripped to shreds by Mane, but then again it depends on how well Alonso has integrated.
At CB, the most likely pairing would be Cahill and Luiz but that doesn't really fill me with confidence as both have mistakes in them. So perhaps Luiz and Iva at the back? Even though Luiz is the most likely to make a mistake out of all of them, I think he definitely needs to start as he's the only one with any pace. So thoughts?

luiz will therefore cesc and Oscar cannot both play. IMO if we nullify coutinho and firmino who will both play CAM mostly but ether winger on paper perhaps. then we win the game - for that we need kante and matic for sure and really Oscar for the work rate and tackling. fab Is better at creating yes but if we hold their attack the game is easy and the way costa and hazard are playing they can create a couple for themselves.

Agree with WhoNeedsHistory. Need our midfield full of energy and tackling because Liverpool are dangerous. Luiz in for Terry but other than that the same team for me. If the midfield do their job and the front 3 are on form I think we'll comfortably beat Liverpool, though if we have an off day things could get messy.

We definitely have much better defence and midfield than Liverpool. We lack creativity without Fabregas but Oscar is covering much more defensively.

Wd should control the game from start so they will have to worry.

I'm not particularly worried about their game. Simply worried about Mane destroying Ivanovic especially on the counter if we're dominating.
