I have seen many of us asking for Ivan toney for his epl experience but imo I would prefer Watkins instead. Especially if poch is still going to be here next season. I think Watkins is underrated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Watkins is a good player as is Toney. The club need to make the right choices in this for just a few positions depending on outgoings.

That’s the problem right there the club don’t make the right ones.

The club had Nkunku, Jackson and Broja to come back from injury.

We also signed midfielders and then ended up with three who stayed fit.

We have had so many defensive injuries it’s almost a conspiracy.

We also signed two keepers.

You might not be happy with the signings but used to them because the majority of them will be playing for Chelsea for many years.

Tom, you have often made statements and suffix “ get used of it” - strange, I doubt whether the majority of the players will be at Chelsea for years to come, depending on the definition of “years to come “. Toney and Watkins are good but not top class, I certainly wouldn’t advocate paying big fees for them. Broja is injury prone and even when fit isn’t that good. If our defensive injuries are” almost conspiratorial “, who are the almost conspirators?

Jimbo, let me more specific. I think Ugo, Petrovic, Gusto, Caicedo, Enzo, Lavia, Jackson, Nkunku, Noni, Chuka, Fofana, Santos, Disasi and of course Palmer will be at the club for a “football” long time. So “get used to it. ”

The term “conspiracy” was meant as a joke. Like there have been so many it must be deliberate. For the avoidance of doubt, I don’t believe for one minute it has been deliberate but I’m sure it will reviewed at the end of the season.

Tom, I would say 5 perhaps 6 of those mentioned will be at the club for a football long time. I did realise your reference to conspiratorial was tongue in cheek, as was my response as a conspiracy is an agreement between two or more persons to commit an unlawful act. We are not the only club to lose key players to injuries but you are right there needs to be a comprehensive review at the end of the season. That said, some players are injury prone and we seem to have a high level of such players.

My guess is we will have about the same percentage of “injury prone”players as other clubs. In fact I think a review of injuries within the whole premiership would be a good idea.

Will be interesting to see if you are correct and about 50% of our signings will be leaving our club over a “football term. ” I think a lot of the players not on that list will be leaving in the summer window. I posted the ten players I think will be leaving weeks ago.

Tom, it is hard to envisage what would be a common factor regarding injuries across the Premier League. Pep would blame the amount of games and TV scheduling but that is not going to change. If a team is successful they will play more games; the broadcasters will have a big say in the scheduling of games due to the amount of money that is paid for TV rights. Compare the game now to the 70s and 80s when pitches were quagmires and sports science was a bucket of water and a sponge. However, as you said previously we need to review our high level of injuries this season.

Noni, Jackson, dasasi Fofana (forward won’t be.
