im sorry but those of you singing diegos praises for being violent towards another player need to reconsider not only is he likely to recieve a ban but his behaviour:im not on about the usual like winding up defenders anbd the odd bit of ruff play but scratching and palming people in the face is vile behaviour frtom a fully grown man is not acceptable and he is going to be punished for it and I think deep down we would all agree he deserves it aswell as gtabriel who was stupid aswell. I love him but he crosses the line a little too often for my liking and I think someone needs to have a word or suspensions are going to be a regular thing and we could do without them to be honest

Costa is easily the most disgracefull player to set he's feet on a football pitch. makes players like Materazzi look like your Grandmas favourite.

Classic football fans. Soft. If this happened In rugby, no one would care. Happens in a sport full of prima donnas and princesses that care more about there looks than they do winning, and the world loses there minds.

Embarrasing. #istandwithcosta

Don't get me wrong he is a grub. But only when he spits on people ect. Hands in faces there's nothing wrong with. It's not as if he tries to injure someone (you can argue the stomps last year which I hated) but the hands in faces, nothing wrong.

In any other sport and it doesn't even make the back pages. Awful. There's a reason why so many make fun of football in other countries.

{Ed025's Note - nothing wrong with hands in faces hazard?..in boxing maybe..come on mate the guy acted like a thug and its not on..

I don't stand with Costa for footballing reasons at the moment. He has been rubbish so far this season and am actually hoping he gets a ban. When remy started mid week looked far better and it also might give traore a chance to get on the bench or even got forbid the pitch!

Obviously it's not nice. But he's not an angel is he. It's been blown out of proportion somuch it's not even funny

{Ed025's Note - gabriel is no angel either...oh wait.. :)

but scratching. I mean come hardly appropriate for a guy his age and size more like something i'd expect from my 2 year old grandson simply disgraceful i'm sorry but if you disagree your kidding yourself if it was suarez wed all be chewing his head off but just because its one of our own we seem to have the rose tinted specs on

I'm not sure if some of you have always felt this way towards the "violent" or gamesmanship contact in football and that may be the case but I'm just tired of the fickle nature of some Chelsea fans who seem to be blown in whatever direction the media is blowing and don't seem to be free thinkers. Now, for those who have always been genuinely opposed to this aspect of game as some kind of football purest I can understand and sympathize, but the reality is that the game is what it is today and Diego for all his reputation is not special in this regard.
I hate to keep repeating it but the truth is that no team in the EPL gets covered or reported on more negatively than Chelsea and it's not even close. Just compare the commentary on one of our matches to that of any other clubs. My point is that "violent" conduct as defined is committed every week by players of every club and it only seems like a big deal and a call for retrospect action when it's a Chelsea player. If it's not hands to the face like RVP's last season for United it's constant elbows being thrown during Ariel duels or some of the things the refs allow in the box on set pieces. I genuinely believe that during the course of a match certain actions, for whatever reason, are chosen to be highlighted more than others while others aren't given a 2ND thought. An example (I can't remember if was the City,Silva match or Everton, Naismith) when there was a clear kick out against Ivan after the ball went out on our goal line and on the replay one of two chatty commentators said 'it looks like he kick out' then there was about 5 seconds of silence then nothing further was said about it the rest of the match and no other replays. Had it been the other way around and Ivan did that, a big deal would have been made of it weather he got banned or not. It happens a lot.

What annoys me most about the entire ordeal, is the fact that the entire story is one sided. Koscielny dumped Costa on the floor, which started the incident. Gabriel came in and grabbed Costa by the neck. And yet none of it is talked about or even shown in the video clips.

There are countless other incidents that are just as bad that are missed by refs and yet TV pundits etc, gloss over them or don't even mention them at all.

Whatever sells papers lads. It's always been about that. Were the most hated, and rival fans will love seeing a paper on the shelf with a headline that I against chelsea.

I used to be affected by the negative press by us. But I'm starting to feel just fine. We are what we are. No need to feel agrieved by it, just accept it :)

Go chelsea

I think there's a fine line between playing hard and playing dirty. I remember a few years back when Suarez bit ivanovic and then went on to score the equalizing goal and needless to say people on here went mental. While I'm not saying that hitting/scratching is equal to biting I think they are both very immature acts that are incredibly tough to defend. My issue with it is this is the second time he's gotten suspended for unnecessary actions and refs will be looking for these behaviors more and more. I could care less what the press has to say.
