I think we'll finally get Lukaku this summer. Shame that we didn't do it 4 years ago, we would have had a premiership or two by now.
Ed001, do you think Chelsea have massively underperformed this decade? 2 premierships after spending more than city is a very poor return in my opinion. I think we have and uts because our recruitment strategy is all wrong.
{Ed001's Note - you do have to say that is not good enough, but that's why the manager keeps changing. I am not sure that is helping though, as you are able to develop no consistency or bring through young players to build a team around.}

I agree Ed, that has been the main problem for us and on top of that, we didn't have a core group of players as reliable as JT, Lamps, Drogba and the others, to perform even when the manager changes.
But I don't think we have spent as much as City. Whenever we bought players we have sold nearly as much. So the book must be balanced.
{Ed001's Note - it probably depends on how it is calculated but I would be surprised if Chelsea spent anything like as much as City did on their defence alone, let alone overall.}

The amount of money they have spent on their defence alone is mind boggling and it seems they are looking at defenders yet again!

Hard to compare City's spending to Chelsea's. In terms of buying players perhaps it's similar, but Chelsea also do a great deal of selling players. Morata, Hazard, Costa, Matic, Oscar. All players that were sold for pretty big fees.
