Costa stated he'd only leave Chelsea to go back to Atletico. But Atletico can't register any new players until January, and Costa doesn't seem the type to be fine with sitting out several months first until he can play again.

So it seems probably that Costa will stay this summer. My question, Ed, is whether that affects Chelsea's plans for signing a new striker. Would they still want to sign a new striker (like Lukaku, Icardi or Belotti) even if Diego's staying? Or would Diego staying mean that the interest in strikers will be put on hold for now?
Thanks for any help!

{Ed002's Note - It really isn't that complicated. Chelsea will do what they see necessary.}

Thanks anyway, Ed. I'll trust Marina and Emenalo then.

Jackson, Atletico Madrid was maybe Diego Coast's option in summer 2016. There is only one direction for Costa and that's China. China or to stay at Chelsea.

I know player interviews should be taken with a grain of salt, but Diego did state about a week ago that the only club he'd leave Chelsea for is Atletico. And that he's got no interest in moving to China.

If he is going to keep saying he loves atleti and he wants to go back then good riddance! , I don't want to hear that as a Chelsea fan, he said in an interview with Henry for sky that he wanted to go back to Madrid last summer, I don't care how good a player is if they talk like that they they can go!

Ever since he has been with us he has said he was homesick which makes China highly unlikely as there is no 'nipping' home for a few days when you are there. I think all the 'China' talk was his agent or just paper talk and he is likely to stay with us. He has done well for us but I have never been a fan.
