Been reading some posts on here recently regarding the transfer of players into our club and one or two seem very anxious to say the least so I thought I would clarify the situation. The Summer transfer window does not open until 1st JULY so no matter who clubs are linked with, what deals are done, what sponsor is on the shirt, who manufactures the shirt etc etc nothing can officially happen until then. Chill out boys and girls and enjoy your Summer, we are the premier league champions and Don Conte, Mr Emenalo, Maria and of course, Mr A, know who the targets are and will try to deliver. Cheers.

How did city get all these signings then? That's what I don't understand. Have they just agreed in principle or have they some kind of super power?

ed how did rangers new manager turn up at ibrox with 3 new players, who are all doing preseason training ahead of europa qualifiers in 2/ 3weeks time?, i thought the english window is open, the new players will arrive for preseason in july.
{Ed001's Note - I am not sure how that is relevant? How many official competitive games have they played in? That is the only thing they are prevented from doing prior to the registration being transferred.}

im not trying to be funny ed, i just don't understand this window that's all, it opened on the 9th of june to sign players, is it a later date to register them?, i only ask about rangers because they have a euro qualifier before july they have already signed players, are all ready back in training, and the manager has said the new players will play in the qualifiers on the 29th of june?, does that not mean the window is open as normal its just most clubs are still not back for preseason yet?
{Ed001's Note - sorry Cat, I did not read the original post, I was just responding to how Man City were able to sign players prior to Friday. I never realised someone was saying it opens in July, it doesn't, it opened on Friday in England. Apologies for the confusion, before Friday they could announce them, train with the club etc everything but play in competitive matches. From Friday onwards, in England anyway as there are different dates for different countries, the players can be registered and play in competitive matches.
There are different deadlines for registering a player to play in the different qualifying rounds in Europe as well.
Yes, the window is now open but most clubs are still on holiday.}

thanks ed,1 more question to clear up for us chelsea fans if you have time, we are changing sponsors from adidas to nike, the change will happen on the 1st of july, will chelsea not sign or unveil players until that date so they can be paraded in nike, or will they come as and when deals go through, cheers again ed!
{Ed001's Note - I very much doubt that will happen, it would just mean they will wait for the pictures of them in kit etc. The actual signings should not be effected at all.}
