Apparently we have activated remy clause so as long as he passes medical looks as if he will be the replacement. A good player but have to say am feeling underwhelmed.

Queer but I actually agree with you spearce. He's a good player but for some reason this has "Demba Ba" written all over it. If does sign hope he proves me wrong.

If he can stay fit he will score goals. A lot better alternative to Torres anyway.

I think any striker would benefit from having drogba to learn from, not a bad piece of business in my opinion

Just looks like another stop gap, whereas Destro would have seemed like adding for now and the future perhaps. Would probably have preferred to keep Ba, but if Remy signs will of course hope for the best for and from him!

I'd also be feeling a bit underwhelmed if indeed the club sign Remy. However, I think he fits the style of play better than Ba and would probably not cost a whole lot.
I'm sure the club will keep monitoring Destro, and perhaps when Drogba retires as a player they will go back in for him.

The way I see it guy's he is relatively cheap he is a proven goalscorer in the BPL and has done it in 2 different teams that are not particular prolific he averages 1 in every other game and to be honest he offers something different he is very quick and makes runs in behind the defense which gives us something a little different to Costa and Drogba, Whoever we brought was going to play second fiddle to Costa when fit anyhow I think in latter stages of matches Remys pace could be decisive and I also think he could compliment either Costa or Drogba were we to put 2 up top for 8-10 million he's a bargain. Plus Arsenal and Spurs don't get him ;).

He'll be ideal for us, I think. The way I see it, there are 3 types of player that we could buy:
1. A superstar, top draw goal scorer such as Cavani, Falcao etc. The problem is, we only play with one striker and you don't pay £30m/£40m/£50m for a player to sit on the bench. Although we'd have loved to see a player of that stature join, I would have been a big surprise given that we've spent £32 on Costa and he seems to fit the system like a glove.
2. A good young player with potential to become a great player. I suppose Destro will fall into that bracket. Still not cheap at around £20m and buying young players is always a bit of a gamble, particularly when they come from another country and league.
3. A good (but probably not great) mid 20's player with proven ability to score goals. This is what Remy is. Chelsea is the biggest and best club he'll ever play for and so he will accept the bench a little better than bigger name players. We know he can score goals in the PL and at around £10m, is relatively cheap.

He is a good goal scorer, quick, and probably not that expensive. I rather doubt he will mind being second or third pick behind Costa which is important.
Not the most exciting signing maybe, but he has premier league experience, already lives in London and won't need to much time to adapt. Decent and prudent signing in my opinion.

This lad has scored 20 in 41 EPL games.
His scoring record in France was 53 in 136.
This lad is not a bad player and as a back up striker seems a good option at a good price.

He's cheap, in his prime age, proven in the epl, settled in London, and most importantly provides a completely different option than the other strikers. At the beginning of the summer many people were begging for Aubamayang and Remy is incredibly similar in my opinion.
