The not so good but as expected news osimhen is less likely now means we need to turn our focus to a no9,
Jackson has improved with every week, but competition gets the best out of players imo,
So who do we like,

Toney - this the safest choice? Knows the league and has good record

Gyorkeres - competition likely from Arsenal, who would you choose if both offered same fee

Boniface - started brilliant, looked a beast, been injured so who knows if it's a spell or genuine player in there

Guirressey - probably easiest / cheapest option, started quickly with the goals but not been as potent, again? Purple patch not top class player?

Sesko - isn't ready to lead the line despite the excitement about him,

Watkins - not been linked but what a player his become

Solanke - same as Watkins, improved massively last couple years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jackson is a superstar in the making. A truly fantastic player in the making. Pace, skill, technique, strength, awareness. Goals starting to come. He will lead this team going forward. Have faith and patience. He is our future. Back him up with Nkunku and Fofana and save the money for a CB.

Matt just a few things.

1) we could stick with what we have if any preferred option isn’t available.

2) We could (god forbid) just take Lukaku back.

3) The lad from Juve was rumoured to be an option last season. I haven’t got a clue how he is playing this season.

Just a few more options to add to your list.

I'm with G8,

Let's stick with Nkunku, Jackson and Fofana.

Absolutely no way do we take Lukaku back and he would probably refuse anyway.

It would be nice to go with the squad we have minus axfew players that will leave, not spend any money and see where it takes us.

I'm fully aligned with G8, people are letting a few shocking misses early in the season cloud their judgment of Jackson.

None of the other options are a clear improvement on him, so bring in someone who can offer the parts of the game he needs to develop (box movement, heading, drawing fouls) .

Osinhem is the only improvement I really see as a No 9, the others will, like Jackson, take a season to adjust to EPL, do we have that time?
I feel we need a fluid 3 behind the striker, players that can go left right or centre. Jackson, Palmer, Nkuku, Mudryk and Chukumeka can do this, Sterling and Conner cannot, which is why I think they will be sold at seasons end. Technically both are inadequate!
