You may agree or do agree with me but during his second spell at Chelsea Jose Mourinho made 3 crucial signings Fabregas, Matic and Diego Costa! He also signed Eto'o, Willian and Cuadrado, first two didn't really pay off, about Cuadrado is still to be seen.
Unfortunately Jose Mourinho also managed to chase out Mata, KDB and Lukaku. I haven't mentioned David Luis because that was fantastic financial deal.
Was Chelsea transfer policy so amazing as press is trying to present we will see in the future!

Getting 28m for lukaku wasn't a great deal? Getting 37m for mata wasn't a great deal? And with KDB absolutely nobody on this site was upset when he got sold with most complimenting the club on raising over a 10m profit on the player. None of these guys were a huge part of joses plan. In the meantime the money brought in from these guys has been used to balance the books for other purchases. Put it this way would you rather have kdb and 3m or matic, or lukaku and 4m or diego costa.

Eto'o may not have been a world beater, but I don't think he was a bad signing. He scored some important goals and didn't do that badly for us. Indeed as you said, jury's still out on Cuadrado. Lastly, Willian is a nailed on starter most games, so can you consider him a mistake or a bad buy? You may not like his playing style, fair enough, but Mourinho clearly values him a lot so he was a good acquisition IMO.
Mourinho also didn't chase out KDB and Lukaku. Lukaku did something apparently to upset people at the club, that's why they decided to sell him. KDB made demands that the club wouldn't agree to, that's why he left.
Try not to make stuff up. I think the club's transfer dealings have been very good.

I have just presented facts.
Answer to your question t.k.is I would prefer that we never signed Willian (32m£) and have KDB who is estimated on 35m£ ATM.I don't know have we made mistake with Mata and Lukaku.
Sorry I have forgotten to mention Schurrle.

the success of the term is determined by how players work together and jose feels that these guys moved on weren't as good for the team as willian and I'm not ignorant enough to think I know more than jose. Also etoo came in on a free and was worth the price of his wages, and we managed to net a 4m profit on Schurrle so I'm not sure how you can't categorize that as a success.

To build on what Jackson said, Mourinho didn't chase Mata out of the club. Mata refused to play the way that Mourinho wanted to and therefore wanted to leave for game time. If he hasn't been selfish and agreed to defend as well as attack then he would have had game time and most likely not been sold.

{Ed008's Note - How do you know this? Jose never gave De Bruyne or Mata a chance to establish themselves into the side.

Ed008, I actually feel that Mata was given ample time and chances to establish himself in the side. He was not dropped immediately when Mourinho rejoined. He had plenty of chances be it from the bench or with starts. Either way everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however this is mine. As for Kevin De Bruyne, Ed002 explained that he made demands of the club that the club would not agree to, therefore I don't see how it was Mourinho that chased him out.

{Ed008's Note - 11 starts to establish yourself into the side? Mata joined the squad late after playing in the Confederations Cup with Spain, everyone is entitled to their opinion but when your best player for the last 2 years by a mile cannot get into the side something is wrong. The De Bruyne situation I understand Ed002 has explained it before, but he was not given a chance at all.

Ed008, go and look at the number of games mata played under Jose, as your plain wrong about him. Both should've bided there time but both wanted out.

{Ed008's Note - Yeah so 11 starts between August and January is being given a chance? Of course Jose was going to accept a 40m+ bid when it was given he wasn't prepared to wait for Mata to adapt to a position he was unfamiliar with. De Bruyne wanted out as it got to the point where he wasn't even getting appearances off the bench just 2 starts under Jose, how are you supposed to impress with that? Both players were played out of position also. Both players are better then Oscar FACT.

For me I always use to shout for debruyne to play. Watched him a lot and seen some peaches of goals from him. Luiz had to go for that money, same as lukaku. But mata and debruyne should be in our team right now instead of Oscar and willian.

Imo I'd take Matic, Fab and Costa over Mata, KDB and Lukaku. yes I'd probably take Mata or KDB over Oscar but that isn't really how it works. Mata's and KDB's sale allowed us to afford Matic, I'm not sure selling Oscar would have generated the needed funds. Ironically I feel that if we'd had Matic from the start, Mata wouldn't have needed to track back as much as he was being asked to and therefore might not have been considered secondary to Oscar.

I also wouldn't say Willian or Eto'o didn't pay off. Eto'o scored some decent goals and he was 'free'. Willian, well everyone has their own opinions on him but if he was such a flop he wouldn't be starting 90% of games. Some of us may not like the role he plays but JM obviously does.

To Blueboy1, if we had another CM that was better defensively and we could play a high line then I'd take Mata nd KDB over Oscar and Willian but atm we need our forward players to be more defensive to cover the gaps we have at the back imo.

Ed008, please don't get me wrong. I'm not even remotely trying to suggest that Mata and KDB aren't good players. I have fantastic faith in both of their abilities. However, as you mention it, 11 starts? Considering a premier league season consists of 38 games (League games only of course), 11 games is actually just short of a third of a season. I believe that plenty sufficient time to see if a player is what you as a manager want or not.

{Ed008's Note - IMO a player deserves a season under new manager to adapt to the new tactics, the style of play going forward and defending and the positioning. Oscar has been with Chelsea coming up to 3 years? Has he ever had a consistent period of games where he's dominating games like Mata did? Or better like Hazard has? He's had too many chances and now he's been dropped to the bench the last month or two because of it.

Oscar is still only 23 years of age and it's probably something that the coaching team were looking to try and build within his game (Consistency). However when Mata was sold he was what? 24 I believe. Just about coming into his prime as a midfield player in my opinion and it can be difficult to change the way a player is on the pitch by this point. I quite like Oscar purely for his work rate, and when he does shine he is fantastic. However I honestly believe he will be sold in the summer and to be honest, I think that too would be the right move for the club. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen. Please don't get me wrong, I am and have always been a fan of Mata, however I do believe his sale was in the club's best interests.

You need to remember that Mata was played as a winger where his actual role is AM. We sold him too quickly as Mourihni just didn't liked him. I am completely agree with you ED
