Just seen Dykes new proposals and I think they're ridiculous. I fail to see how it'd increase the quality of of English players. What do you think of the proposal everyone and eds? Will it actually go through? Can't players argue that it will impact their freedom to work?

{Ed018's Note - I don't think it'll ever get passed}

I like the proposal and it seems to fit in with most peoples views on here. Everyone keeps saying how they would like our youth to be given a chance. This rule will help that happen. As a team we are building towards promoting from the youth anyway so it could work out just right for us. Whilst at the same time being a huge boost for English talent.

The idea that any young English player will fail to reach their potential because of overseas players is completely bogus - if a player is good enough, he will make it. I challenge those that forward this idea to give 1 example of any young English player who hasn't reached his potential.

Josh McEachran?

Club grown platers can foreign platers as well. They have to spend 3 years in the club until 18 years of age.

Juventa I think Josh didn't reach his potential as he didn't mature when he had too. He is way too skinny. Also I do believe that this rule would make more harm than good, as club would buy good English players who will still mostly sit on the bench just look at all English youth players who went to Man City, is their careers any good?

From my point of view, if the talent was there then it wouldn't be an issue but we still have major issues at grassroots football. The proposals are meant to combat players falling through the cracks, but if we had youngsters who had such great potential that weren't getting into teams in the PL, they would have been lighting up lower league teams or becoming stars abroad ala Pogba, which just isn't the case.
I don't think we're going to see a surge in more English players, we'll just see more HG foreigners imo, which isn't going to help England at all.
Also if we think English players are expensive now, imagine how much their price will sky rocket when clubs will need 4 more of them.
