Here is an interesting observation about Werner
Ralph Hasenhuttl: I know Timo very well and I have seen him in situations where he
was not good.

Most of the time when I have seen this is because of the reason that the game doesn't fit to him. The team didn't play in the way he can bring his best on the pitch, I think. He is definitely a player where you have to adapt your game on him. If you do this, he will give you everything you need from a striker.
'But therefore, he has some qualities you really have to focus on. The good thing for him, I think at Leipzig when I was there, is we concentrated completely on his qualities.

With our quick transitions after winning the ball, it was perfect for our game. Also when he was with Julian [Nagelsmann], he was also scoring a lot of goals.
'But yeah, you really need to bring him into his best position so he can bring his strength on the pitch and then for me, he is one of the best strikers in Europe. '
Question is why our management team haven't taken this into consideration?

They have, but we don't have midfield that turns defence into offence very well.
Jorgi is to slow on the ball.
Kova just runs with it.
Kanté isn't a playmaker.

The 3rd goal against Leeds is a good example of his ability when utilised well.

Lots of quotes but all about a different league.

He looks like a player that has to run onto a ball because for sure as things stand his first touch isn’t good enough for him to be a hold up CF.

Just needs time would be my guess, a bit like the Drog did.

Different strokes for different folks but without doubt Lamps needs to get more out of him.

Tom his first touch isn't good nor is his finishing right now. that's not because its a different league imo, it's mainly because his confidence is rock bottom. He never had this issue in Germany mate. His first touch, control and finishing was class.

His doing all the other things right like attacking space behind the opposition defenders, making intelligent runs and more importantly unlike the other strikers his creating different type of opportunities for us BUT his missing them having done the hard work.

I'd definitely take Hasenhuttl's advice on board. If anyone knows him well then its him.

Let me put it politely and say that the German league isn’t known for its defensive abilities. If I remember correctly one of the Eds made reference to this issue a few weeks ago.

I hope I’m wrong but Werners first touch isn’t anything to do with Lamps or confidence, he just has a poor first touch.

IMO his strength is to run onto a ball and when he plays we have to play to that strength.

I know you won’t believe it Shak but some posters blame Werners poor first touch on Lamps. It’s unbelievable.

You can't blame poor control or touch on Frank. That's just silly.

However, confidence is a massive thing that can effect everything for strikers. It can make the most basic things look hard. German league isn't as competitive but his touch and control was always good. He even started the season with us very well. However, right now his strugglimg to do the most basic things.

Lets hope he turns this around sooner rather later. I'm convinced that if he starts firing then the whole teams morale will improve. Having a goal scoring striker is HUGE.

Christensen was very good in the German league a couple of years ago. Take that how you will when thinking about the quality of defences in Germany.

Werner has commented early on on how tough he has found the defenders in the EPL and the match commentators in fulham game noticed that Werner seemed to be worried about being clattered and pulled out of one or two challenges. But is this true? I think Morata also struggled to deal with the physical side of EPL. Hope Werner can adapt and gain more confidence cos at moment he really is struggling. But his pace and movement good even if he is currently finding it hard to hit the proverbial barn door from any distance poor lad.
