Our academy is the most profitable of the British teams. We produce some really good players, some make it some don't, my question if for anyone who follows our academy more than I do, we are always linked to a type of player, the premier league no9, lukaku Toney osimhen vhalovic Ferguson gyorkes sesko some genuine links some maybe not, but, why isn't we aren't or haven't produced our own big strong old fashioned no9, except Tammy I can't think of one who has been close to making an appearance, or breaking through, ?

Matt, Solanke.

As Tom rightly points out, Solanke is the player you are looking for. The perennial Tammy disrespect will also never cease to amaze me.

Broja is another who, whether you rate him or not, has made the leap from academy forward to premier league striker. He might not last here, given what we know, but I expect him to have a long and successful career. There are things to like about Burstow as well, though he seems to be having a tough go of it at Sunderland.

Nketiah and Brewster also spent time at Cobham.

Currently there are a few players in the academy who are playing in the striker position, Stutter, McNeilly and Silcott-Duberry in particular. However the one to really keep an eye on seems to be Shim Mhueka who joined from Brighton and is only 16 but has been playing up and scoring at the U18 level.

RBD, good information. I will keep an eye for the young lads you have mentioned.
