So we didn't get over the line in style but the top 4 wasn't about today it was about the whole season.

What with C.V., a change in managers, misfiring forwards, injuries, a hectic schedule and new players bedding in I'd say top 4 is a small success. Especially given where we were at Xmas.

The shouts of Tuchel being clueless in big games is ridiculous. 2 finals and numerous wins over big teams blacks that up.

Yes, some players need moving on but the ones in question needed moving on before this season started, that's nothing new.

Look at things differently. We've done this without a prolific striker, just imagine we sign one or and better still Werner finds a bit more form in front of goal next season. Personally I'd be optimistic about next season.

Well done to Frank and Thomas as well as the players for what we've achieved this season. In what was probably yet another transition period.

Mind boggling the money and experience that’s been put through this team and we have had to wait till the final day and then fail on our own front and people saying we are ok?
It’s laughable we’ve been so lucky that we are even able
To talk about the big competitions. Hope we win.

Nib how on earth were we lucky to be iN champions league final?

Nib. When Roman first splashed the cash, the club was criticised for buying the Premiership. There was no guarantee that team would gel or be successful but Jose got it playing and it was a thing of beauty.

This season has been strange for lots of reasons and it was never a given that the signings would be successful.

Werner hasn’t hit the ground running with lots of goals. Ziyech picked up an injury and hasn’t look the same player since. Havertz got C.V. and he has admitted how long it took him to get over the effects of this dreadful disease.

Next season will be the time to judge these players in my opinion.

Dan i think vast majority of us have thought TT and the team have handled the big games very well. who hasn't agreed here?

The problem has been in the games against 'lower' clubs in terms of league position in what on paper were not so obviously big games eg in this run in against likes of West Brom and Brighton and Arsenal and yes Villa today. They lost us 11 out of 12 points and too qualifying for top 4 up to a Spurs win v Leicester nerve wracking stuff.

But we did make it .

Fantastic post. TT has done a phenomenal job to get us the top 4. It was a distance memory back in February. Thankful for the two Finals aswel.

We just need to sort our finishing before the UCL final. The chances missed at Villa were terrible, I'm glad Ian Wright called it out on MOTD.
