People wondering why a lot are slating Kepa and don't rate him. 19th in the table on lowest safe percentage. A very worrying stat for any goalkeeper, let alone a 75 million pound keeper.

Although I don’t think kepa is a 75m goalkeeper, he hasn’t been helped with gung ho football and a defence ahead of him that’s flakey at best,

A goalkeeper is a massive cog in any successful team.

Unfortunately, Kepa has the 2nd lowest save percentage in the league which is worrying. I've watched every single Chelsea game and I will say that the stats definitely don't lie. There are many instances where he should have done better and there many games where we should not have lost or drew.

Kepa definitely has to improve if he wants to be Chelsea's no.1 beyond this season. I am sure Chelsea are aware of the situation. This year will mark his 2nd year at the club and unfortunately it has gone downhill since the last. He may turn out to become a great keeper one day but how long do Chelsea persist and suffer?

It sounds like you’re turning the tide from you’re original opinion Shak? I’ll back anyone who wears the Chelsea shirt but I’ll be honest and voice my opinion when I think they haven’t be good enough for a certain amount of time! I didn’t expect him to be top but 19th is downright shocking.

Never been a fan of basic statistics. I think the table being referred to has the Arsenal keeper on stats as the best in the Premiership.

There are several sights who have general ratings and Kepa, I believe, is rated as the 3rd best keeper in 2019 and I’m not sure I would agree with that assessment either.

I think there was a statement once about statistics but I can’t remember how it goes!

My original opinion was more focused around Jorginho who I rate very highly as you know. Yes his going through a blip like many others but I have every faith he will turn it around.

As for Kepa, I have been sceltical for a while because I believe he should have done better in many circumstances. I have said previously that he isn't performing to the standard required. He is very inconsistent.

Regardless, of my opinion I will support the player until he either turns his form around positively or if Chelsea decide to move him on. I won't slander the player to knock his confidence even more.

You are right there about basic stats Tom. Have you heard anything about Chelsea thinking about replacing him unless his form improves?

Regardless, I hope he does improve for Chelsea's sake. We got big games coming up thick and fast and we need him.

No Tom the table currently has Lloris top with Alisson 2nd and Ederson about 5th. Leno is actually a much better keeper.

16 Dec 2019 20:08:29
Lloris, Alisson and Ederson are strong keepers. Leno has done well to be fair to him.

Kepa has done well in patches. I felt last year he was pretty decent and I had very high hope this season.

Well anyway, I'm hearing that Lampard is becoming very frustrated with Kepa. I'm not sure of the reliability of the info but hey if anyone knows a thing or two about keepers then its Petr Cech.

{Ed002's Note - The goalkeepers are not directly Lampard's responsibility.}

There are so many of statistical sites, I can’t be having any of them.

Any chart that has Lloris as the top keeper must be odd IMO.

Shak I’m not sure how or were this Kepa for sale rumour started but IMO it would be a big mistake. As I’ve also said before I think it would be another KDB, Salah moment.
