I know it might sound naive or kind of a wishful thinking, but I feel that Lamps is going to go on an undefeated run and he will save his job.
Let's all get behind him for one last time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol lol lol - when was the last match that we played well? It's so long ago that I really can't remember. Unbeaten run - lol!

For me It’s straightforward back Frank and buy Rice, or sack him. Imo if United don’t sign Fernandez they are not top of the league, nothing to do with their rookie failed ex player coach. Chelsea’s midfield simply do not have enough physicality V the very top teams. They basically play like Sarri’s team without Hazard of course. Unfortunately I think a decision has been made Lamps is a goner.

21 Jan 2021 13:43:21
Fully agree Stephen. It's not just backing Frank, it's about having a midfielder that is physical enough to control our midfield.

@MDW:
It's not about playing well, it's about not losing. We need good results to build confidence and play better day by day.

21 Jan 2021 13:48:27
Lets hope Ash 🙏. We do need to start winning for the sake of Chelsea right now. Big test will be Wolves.

21 Jan 2021 14:50:19
I agree Shak.
Beat Wolves and we can suddenly look at a good 3 game winning streak before Spurs match (of course if we beat Luton and Burnley) . That would mean a whole lot for us.

21 Jan 2021 14:51:07
But if we drop points against Wolves, I can see Lamps getting the sack unfortunately.

21 Jan 2021 15:24:15
Fantastic posts lads. So pleased to read positive ideas.

21 Jan 2021 15:25:37
Honestly, the way it’s going I can see Frank being sacked on Sunday when we either get beat by Luton or put in another poor 1-0 win.

21 Jan 2021 15:26:45
Ashk, that is what being a fan is all about. The old saying “it’s the hope that kills you” fits exactly for Chelsea fans atm. I regard myself as a level headed with a keen interest and a fair bit of experience in football. I coached semi pro for a number of years which was higher than the level I played. But quietly, I have to admit that I must be the most biased blue tinted glass wearing Chelsea diehard, because imo I have only seen Chelsea played off the park twice this season, City and Liverpool first half. Yet results and everything I read clearly states differently. Imo teams have scored at the right times v Chelsea. Everton penalty 1-0, then nothing from them for the other 89 minutes. Chelsea hit the woodwork three times. Wolves 95th minute loss, I’m only claiming a draw there. Lol. Arsenal, never a penalty, a wonder free kick from a cart horse and a fluke. 3-0 down, even then Chelsea nearly got it back if Jorginho scores the pen at 3-1 who knows? Villa game, injured man still down when the second phase of play begins, Chelsea having successfully defended the original attack with 10 men yet the game still allowed to continue. Never seen a ref do that before or since. Bizarre. Add to that the injured player involved in the incident has been out since! City done Chelsea in a 20 minute blitz. Accepted. Even Leicester the other night, Chelsea were getting the upper hand at 1-0 having gifted the 1st goal through poor organisation granted, when from being given a penalty to bang 2-0 down! Another game gone. But I also have to recognise that Chelsea got a 3-0 win v WHU it was never 3-0, got a 1-0 win at Fulham shouldn’t have won the game. That’s football. It’s no wonder Lamps is struggling to answer, any of the criticisms, yes the team hasn’t been great but they could have had another 3 to 4 points on the board, which this season is everything. Biased? possibly.

Tom at minute mate there’s not a great deal to be positive about, Luton games a no brainier for me but I bet he plays the strongest side he’s got available. I don’t no what’s happened at Chelsea the teams all over he still doesn’t no his starting 11 he’s playing people out of position to accommodate others centre half’s are changed more than front 3 and then they talk about stability lol. New manager new style new start for me and do it now while there’s still time to give it ago.

21 Jan 2021 16:09:56
In my opinion Nib it’s easier to be negative than positive and negative thoughts, trust me, are not good for your well-being.

Anyway, I’ve seen a hell of a lot worse than this over the last 60 years of being a Chelsea supporter.

Look at the Gooners, they beat us and they look an OK side again. Obviously the reverse is true for us but form can change very quickly.

21 Jan 2021 16:58:33
Another brilliant post Stephen. It's a joy to have you here mate.

I fully agree that fine margins have always been against with the exception of the Fulham game and that has made everything a lot worse for the team.
I know we are not playing very well and perhaps we haven't really had a great performance this season but no one is doing that good this season.
Even the likes of City and Liverpool are struggling.
ManU has had all the luck in the world since the restart last year and Leicester's season has been really up and down this season despite their results.

These small things matter a whole lot more this season because of the special circumstances that everyone is facing and I truly believe things can change for the better very quickly.

21 Jan 2021 17:12:02
TomB yes I well remember being in much worse positions over the years. Trouble is since RA we have become an elite club and I like it. As for Rice I can’t see that happening unless Frank is still manager at the end of the season and gets an extension to his contract. It is Frank who is pushing for him and I don’t think everyone at the club want to pay the likely fee which is always over the top for English players.

21 Jan 2021 17:12:40
Also Nib and I know this is hard to believe but a change of manager brings zero guarantees for success and it could end up being even worse!

Stay safe mate.

21 Jan 2021 17:59:40
Yes Jimbo an elite club that has been spoilt with recent success.

There has never been a guarantee that financial support will bring continued success but it should help.

21 Jan 2021 18:12:37
I agree Tom but it’s not happed yet in my eyes maybe when AVB took over😊 I don’t know who to suggest I just no at the minute it’s not working with frank he’s lost some players for me and there’s only one way it goes! Just my opinion.

21 Jan 2021 18:24:38
Tom I agree about money not guaranteeing success and we have been spoilt over the last few years. The thing that most concerns me is the lack of a philosophy or style of play. I remember when Glen Hoddle was appointed he established a way of playing, we were not particularly successful but I enjoyed the football.

21 Jan 2021 18:29:47
AVB was a nightmare that’s for sure Nib.

The Rafa appointment was successful it terms of a trophy but the football was a total bore.

GH’s second spell for me was all a bit pointless.

Obviously RDM got us the dream trophy but generally it wasn’t a very good time.

I think Lamps will get some help and maybe some fresh ideas and outlook, hopefully that will help us turn the corner.

We fell out of form quickly we can get back to form quickly.

21 Jan 2021 19:32:40
Glen Hoddle was a good manager for us and I was gutted when he left. It has always been a mystery to me but probably not him, why he still doesn’t manage a football club.

Name dropping I know but I used to attend a lot of CPO events and Denise Wise told me a story about GH that was rather amusing and typical of DW. Needless to say it didn’t present GH in a good light.

Another thing about GH. I remember him going on and on about how Eddie Newton should play for England and when he was England manager I don’t think he ever picked him.

I’m getting old but that’s how I remember it.
