Been reading all the posts over the last few days and the debate on Lampard. "Should he stay or should he go now". The Clash. what a band they were.
Anyways, He is not going anywhere just yet, the board want to back him but doubts exist as to whether he is the right man to take the club forward. The plan is still to review the situation at the end of the season but that will change if results don't pick up and quickly.
Top 4 is the bottom line, miss that and he is gone 100%.
The next 4 games are very important, win them all and he likely stays, lose the majority of them and he is gone.
Roman and the board will be working on several scenarios and discussing potential replacements. The squad is good enough without doubt to finish top 4 and therefore it really is down to Lampard as to what potential outcome is achieved.
For me I'm hoping we win all 4 games and get back on track, confidence returns, we get past Athletico Madrid and push up the table. After all, the great Sir Alex was one game away from the sack all those years ago as a young manager and look how that story turned out. Over to you Lamps and good luck.

Brilliant post G8.
I think we can get 13 points from our next 5 league games and that would be a great confidence booster.

The bit about Sir Alex, that's exactly what I thought about the whole situation that Lamps is in. Hopefully he can turn it around like him.

I think both Lampard and our players have to look at themselves and just do better and put a lot more effort and energy into whatever they do. And surely a different approach is badly needed.

I’m with you G8.

Yes but Ferguson had a track record he won the Scottish League with Aberdeen, the European Cup Winners Cup and the European Super Cup before he joined United.

But he was still Scottish. Only joking!

Haha, Ferguson and Wenger are the last of the long- term managers. Whatever people think about Frank, 3 years is about the norm for managers at top club nowadays either because of lack of success or because of the style of football.
