Imo we acted too late with Frank . we could have been a contender if left earlier. we we're headed for our worst ever finish during RA era before the ruthless one in his passion for Chelsea expectedly acted.
I expect that TT might still get us even a second place now which would be seen as miracle considering how badly Frank left us. btean confidence almost ready and even individual players very low except for his pet projects. I was snacked when I saw his interview where said he should have been given more time. and I was like More Time to actually do what. to completely kill the club which made question how loyalty to crcafter he left to play for city he lost his place. and concluded that it's jus St convenient for him to leverage on the lagend sentiments because he was a key key figure in our prak period of of the club. Ilo leave off your anti FL rants now mate we know your point of view well enough and you will have read opposing opinions including the established facts that FL and Jody brought some v good young players into first team and secured us 4th place last season. We also beat by larger margins earlier in the season 4 of the sides we have beaten in recent games. We beat the Magpies who we play tomortow night 2-0 at their place and id expect us to better that st our place. Ashk I don’t think we can sack the board. As for TT he will, of course, be judged by results As for Frank I don’t think he would have turned it around but we will never know. Mind you, 75K a week for sitting on your arse isn’t bad, better than Universal Credit.

Jimbo, Ashk1 is only moving the debate of why Chelsea are not challenging for the big titles away from simply sacking managers onto more legitimate ground. It is no coincidence that Chelsea fans are one of the few clubs in the top half of the PL that have not railed against their board or owner. RA has been generous to a fault, and all Chelsea fans are grateful. But since 2016 the recruitment has been at best strange, at its worse, piss poor. As champions in 2017 in the close season, the club sold Matic our enforcer with Kante to United? to sign Bakayoko? Conte identifies Lukaku and Van Dijk or Bonucci, he gets Morata and Rudiger whilst club sell Ake to meme room for the German. It has went from bad to worse on this, Zappa, Emerson, Drinkwater, Jorginho £320m and none of them
enhanced the team. Even this season, to sign Ziyech and Werner on top of Pulisic and CHO was one too many of that type of player. Appreciating that Willian and Pedro needed replacing. And Lamps is not totally innocent in all this, it is my understanding that Lamps identified Ziyech, who looks to me weak, unfit and lacks any passion to play for Chelsea the boy will simply will not fit and will have to be unloaded, probably at a loss. With regard to signing Kai Havertz I understand the logic. Chelsea were one of the few clubs in the current C.V. who could purchase this player, so they grabbed him, i do think he will be a great player so I can live with that. Remember We have RLC and Ampadu holding down first team places in the PL, and I want RLC back at the end of this season. Ampadu can continue to play where he is, if they stay up? I am a huge fan of RLC and imo before his injury I would actually have built the team round him. Let’s get this season out of the way and get as high a position in the league as is possible. Watching the results this season anything is possible, apart from the title which City will win. But let’s be a little more creative in changing things around from simply sacking the coach, the recruitment process definitely needs looking at because millions of not hundred of millions are being wasted.

No doubt we have signed some duds whoever is responsible for Drinkwater should be shot . But Lukaku no thanks: and there was no way Bonucci would ever leave Italy. Morata is a good player who didn’t adapt to thePremier League. RLC will never cut it even when he’s not injured he is not consistent and Ampadu doesn’t even make the first X1 at Sheffield U sometimes if that’s who we are relying on we’re stuffed.

Wow! Ampadu has missed 1 game in the last 16 and it was v Chelsea (parent club) He is the main defensive midfielder at SU. The boy is 20 a Welsh international and a Chelsea YA product and he is going great guns! Disagree with me, fine, but don’t make up nonsense. The whole pretext of my post is to say that imo Chelsea’s signing policy has to change. I want the club to adopt a culture of pushing YA players into the first team as a matter of priority and signing only the very top players to challenge for the CL and PL. The YA players of course have to be good enough and that is the real task. ATM Gallagher at WBA, Ampadu at SU, and RLC wouldn’t be any worse in terms of contribution than Jorginho, Emerson, Alonso and Rudiger. U can of course disagree with all that also. But I know that I am fed up with Chelsea scratching about the Italian, Spanish and French leagues to bring in bang average players.

I agree that in recent years some of our purchases have been poor but previously we brought in top class players from Europe, Drogbha, Robben Carvellho etc. But I don’t except that we will be saved by our academy players just look at those who were hyped-up in the past :Solanke, McEachren, Feruz and Kakuta. As you said it’s all a matter of opinions which is what this site is all about. It would good if our academy could produce a decent keeper; that would save us a tidy sum as I don’t have great confidence in any of our current ones.
