Anyone else getting a bit worried about Ziyech's fit with the rest of our squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

He’s creative but very predictable and one footed. Robben used to be predicatable and one footed but he was that good and fast you couldn’t stop him.

But their game is so different, especially his pace and shooting ability was really superior.

I know it’s early days but as I’ve said before he reminds me a bit of Malouda.

He gave us good width and could cross a ball but he slowed play down.

I worry about him, probably more than Havertz and Werner.

His quality is undeniable, but he needs time on the ball and is overly reliant on his left peg. I'm also not sure if he suits the demands of Tuchel's high press.

Good points.

It makes one wonder if he was a Lampard signing or a board/ Marina signing.

I think Ed002 said Frank wasn't responsible for recruitment.

29 Jan 2021 20:38:52
You are right Gola.

29 Jan 2021 20:50:05
There you go then Gola.

Pep is somewhat successful everywhere he goes because they buy the players he wants. Jose and Klopp too to some extent and every other manager in other leagues.

Yes, a seasoned manager would probably be able to get the best out of anyone available, but if you are appointing somebody like Lampard, then you have to give him what he wants and trust his judgement.

@Ashk121 get over it. I don't share your opinion at all, but more importantly, Lamps is out the door.

29 Jan 2021 21:52:58
Absolutely Ashk. U give the guy a job, if he delivers then U back him. big time! Imo Conte and Lamps both were failed in this. Certainly the club spent but not in the successful coach’s preference. It’s baffling and it’s why the club is floundering to really challenge for the PL or make CL semis and finals. This has to stop or it will go on and on. Sure Chelsea might fluke a cup here and there even Arsenal managed that last year. but to be a real football powerhouse you need to hire a coach and back him in the areas he identifies. Chelsea are a generous club in the transfer market, I cannot for understand the disconnect with the coaches wishes? back success using basic common sense.

Fluke a cup here and there? Put a bit more respect on what this club have done under our owner and his board!

You always have the option to go and support whichever team Lampard ends up managing next.

30 Jan 2021 07:12:00
You don't get the point J. It's about sustained success, not Lamps or anyone else. It's about coherent decision making and having a plan, not just: Let's fire the manager and buy a bunch of players that we think are good and demand a trophy.

30 Jan 2021 11:01:51
Sustained success? Since Abramovich bought the club we've been the most successful club in the country. It's about winning Ashk, the club are about winning and they're ruthless if they don't think that's going to happen. Lampard had an appalling record, he struggled massively against top six rivals and top coaches, showing no sign of improvement. You can say he was learning on the job, but there was no signs of him learning any lessons. He was offered help and declined it, the project was failing and the team were in decline.

30 Jan 2021 12:51:39
That's one way to see it.
Yes we have been really successful and we were a really great side in 2003-2012 but since then it's really been a rollercoaster.
We have won things and that's very good but we are not moving forward in a good way, as a football club.
