Just watching the Man City game, and the speed and intensity in which they started the match is something we've been lacking for so long. They're 100% at it from the start.

Tuchel clearly wants us playing with that pace and intensity as you can see with his frustration on the touchline. I know City are currently leaps and bounds ahead us so you could say it's an unfair comparison, but the difference in our play is like night and day compared to City. We're so slow and lethargic!

Agree0 Disagree0

You are right Bobby Man City are miles ahead of us right now, and plating consistently well across the park. They have had the benefit of the same talented manager in place for five seasons, despite some difficulties and no trophies in his first one, a manager who has considerable control over transfers, and at a club whose UAE owner seems to have abundant funds to get the very best players needed to ensure an incredibly strong squad in every position.

After a slow start this season, they are now playing with wonderful rhythm in the 433 system that suits their Barcelona-style high pressing, attacking, flowing system. That we tried to emulate for first 19 games of this season with our new and not v well adapted new signings plus much youth, abandoned after bad run reverting to back 3 to try and steady things, but to which I hope we still are aiming in due course and eventually v successfully!

You've got to also notice their leaders on the pitch, something we have been lacking for such a long time.
Says a lot when Rudiger is one of the leaders in the dressing room.

True Ash. Mind you having praised City to the hilt they have dropped off a bit in second half.

21 Feb 2021 19:19:00
Yeah true, they still played with intention and desire until the very end and could have had their 2nd.

21 Feb 2021 19:25:02
Ashk, you make such a valid point.
Leaders . Harley see any in our team . we need a rock of a leader which is something we have lacked since Terry.

21 Feb 2021 20:52:20
JT, Big Pete, The Drog, Lamps, Ballack, all leaders.

Let’s not also forget so many fantastic players that were leaders in the way they played. Essien, Ash, Eider and Makalele.

I know I’ve missed a lot more but my point is, NO team can have enough leaders.

21 Feb 2021 21:35:35
You’ve forgotten Bogarde😀.

21 Feb 2021 21:47:53
I never forget Bogarde Jimbo 😅. Fans think the Drinkwater signing was bad. My god, that was Bates and Hutchinson at their greedy best.

21 Feb 2021 21:59:34
I think I saw him on the pitch for about 20 minutes and that was enough!

21 Feb 2021 22:05:09
This is what he Bogarde said to the press:-This world is about money, so when you are offered those millions you take them. Few people will ever earn so many. I am one of the few fortunates who do. I may be one of the worst buys in the history of the Premiership but I don't care. '
You’ve got to admire his nerve.

Looking back it’s quite funny!

{Ed0666's Note - tell me how many people in his position would have said no to all that paper? Being paid 50k a week to not play wtf. Amazing contract. Good on him.

21 Feb 2021 23:03:56
TBH I have to admit I probably would have done the same. How many people would voluntarily take a pay cut.

21 Feb 2021 23:05:36
Don’t blame him or the likes of Drinkwater or the much abused lad from Arsenal.

They didn’t make the clubs sign them.

If I remember correctly Bogarde was an international and had lots of medals with Ajax and Barcelona but my god he was hopeless.

{Ed0666's Note - I was gutted when he chose Chelsea over Liverpool. Not so much now tho.

21 Feb 2021 23:54:45
I wonder if he got a loyalty bonus.

{Ed0666's Note - that actually made me crack the fuc* up 😂
