I would like to ask people's opinion on what's gone so wrong with Lukaku. He seemed just fine when he got here, and also had a decent period just before that infamous interview. Is he not good enough? Does Tuchel not use him correctly?
I honestly haven't gotten a clue. Maybe he could've been used differently and in a better way, but I still think he has been playing too poorly and anonymously.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the matter, Ed01 or Ed02 (if not both, but I don't think both of you can comment at once :) )

TT if conte is there it’s a different ball game you pay 80million you play to his strengths.

I just assumed when we signed him we would play to his strengths but we haven’t for some reason.

Just an observation, teams like us, City and Liverpool often find themselves up against the so called low block. Two of those teams don’t have a Lukaku type player in their squads.

He did well at Inter running onto forward passes in the 'inside right' or 'inside left'.

Chelsea play with an extra three rather than two players behind Lukaku so these spaces are filled.

To make space chelsea need to transition more quickly and make forward passes before gaps are closed up. Our midfield doesn't really do this.

It makes sense in our system to press high. This needs a very mobile forward, which RL is not at this time. He's quick in a straight line, but not mobile as a pressing player.

Might be tosh, but that's as I see it.

Good analysis Nath.

Begs the question why did we buy him and not play to his strengths?

I agree Ton.
