It was generally a decent performance. To go down 2-1 was against the run of play and a big blow going into the 2nd half. The first goal we conceded was a deflection. The 2nd goal went straight through Tomori's legs.

As soon as Jorginho came off, the match pretty much stopped for us. His ability to take the ball from deep alongside Kova was causing city so much problems. However, It was evident that Kova alone weren't going to make it happen.

Today is a game which will help in Tomori's development. He didn't have the best game and I am sure he will learn from it. Reece James maybe should have started today.

Only criticism of a player today is Kepa. He is now becoming a liability. He is lucky the post saved his blushes when he gave the ball away to Aguero. VAR saved him at the end because a normal goalkeeper saves that all day long.

Just a shame about his ability to give goals away!

It was Jorginho’s fault for for the 2nd goal overplaying. Kante Kova and Mount should start against the big six, Jorginho isn’t quick enough he should only be playing against the weaker sides.

23 Nov 2019 20:36:22
1st goal sorry.

23 Nov 2019 20:37:48
Kepa’s ball distribution was good today bar one pass trust me Kepa isn’t the problem having a chocolate back 4 that looks like melting all the time is the problem Dave isn’t as good as he was and James should play every game Emerson not good enough Tomori has a lot to learn and Zouma is strong but not good enough and won’t be attacking wise we are relying on mount and Tammy requires 6 attempts before hitting the net there the problems.

Jorginho haters will remain here.

The majority of fans have long since got over the Jorginho debate!

Jorginho all in all has such a fine game yesterday. In Jorginho's role you got to have really big balls, as you losing the ball often leads to the opposition scoring as it did yesterday. rubbish happens. In all other parts of the game, at least in my opinion, he played very well, and his interplay with Kovacic was outstanding as usual.

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but do you really believe this tripe? He was overrun in midfield and a huge part of the reason you lost. He is not a bad player but he is too lacking in mobility and does not have the range of passing to make up for it when played so deep against the movement of City. He spent most of the game trying to catch up. Jorginho was awful yesterday, just too far off the pace to affect the game. At times it looked like he was running in treacle as he tried to get back but was there far too late. It reminded me of watching a player when their legs go and they know where they should be but their legs can no longer get there in time. Except his legs haven't gone, he is just too slow for the pace of the City game.

Play him against slower paced teams and he is fine, but he is a complete liability against City.}

Exactly what I've been saying all season, Ed001 - against weaker teams Jorginho is allowed the time to control the game but against teams of any quality his lack of pace and defensive positional understanding makes him a huge liability. Spot-on, Ed001.

24 Nov 2019 11:35:32
Saying it all season doesn’t make it right.

It’s all about opinions and I am a massive Jorginho fan.

24 Nov 2019 12:01:52
So both City's goals yesterday weren't down to Jorginho? Did you watch MotD where his lack of defensive acumen was once again highlighted? How can anyone be a massive fan of someone who puts so much pressure on his own centre-backs? I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jorginho will be replaced by the start of next season.

24 Nov 2019 12:20:52
MDW your a broken record mate. You've been giving this Jorginho hate for a while now. Give it rest for christ sake.

24 Nov 2019 12:33:44
Also explain what he did wrong in the 2nd goal?

Kovacic gave the ball away with an attempted through pass, the ball came to Mahrez who cut Inside of Emerson and Kovacic to score a goal.

So what did Jorginho do wrong? Was he supposed to come in and cover for Emerson and Kovacic in case he could foresee that he would beat both men?

24 Nov 2019 14:45:26
I think Jorginho will be named player of the season.

Also, I very rarely watch MOD MissDW and very rarely listen to pundits in particular Murphy, Redknapp, Lawrence and JG. I prefer to trust my own opinion.

24 Nov 2019 20:51:47
CFCShak, no, you're the broken record with your love-in over Jorginho - it is making you blind to his very many mistakes. As for the 2nd goal, as MotD pointed out, when the ball broke to Mahrez your lovechild was still attempting to get back into position but failed to do so because he's as slow as an extremely ancient carthorse. I have asked the following question on numerous occasions but have received no answers: Jorginho - he can't tackle, he can't head the ball, he doesn't create, he doesn't score, and he makes Fabregas look as speedy as Usain Bolt - so just what does he provide?! CFCShak, I bet you think Mikel was underrated and World class too! Take off the Jorginho coloured glasses and recognise just how average Jorginho actually is.

24 Nov 2019 23:02:12
Haha. Pathetic comments MDW. Whether or not your a chelsea fan is the real question.

Anyway the Chelsea manager rates Jorginho as one of his main assets which is what matters. I don't care what you say. Irrespective trolling.

25 Nov 2019 11:03:51
CFCShak, still no answer to my question I see! Surprise, surprise. I am told that my first Chelsea match was at 3 months old in the arms of my dad - my mum was in hospital but my dad wouldn't miss a game so took me. I grew up on the Elthelburga Estate on Battersea Bridge Road and could see the floodlights from my bedroom window. I have been a season ticket holder since the 1980s. But I don't have to prove my love of Chels to anyone and certainly not to an armchair 'fan' like you. When was the last time you got up off your backside and actually went to a match?! No, you'd rather sit in your mum's basement and salivate over pictures of Jorginho. What will you do when Lamps kicks his sorry ass out the door?!

25 Nov 2019 14:33:05
When Jorginho takes the player of the year award at the end of the season will you apologise MDW?

25 Nov 2019 20:08:51
TomB, I'll readily agree to that . if you agree to apologise when Jorginho is sold and replaced next summer.
