A very interesting stat regarding Tammy since the start of last season in the PL:

21 goals scored
0.58 per 90mins
3236 minutes played

He is actually top of the table of players that have scored 15 or more goals in the same period of time for goals per 90 mins.

This is very impressive, considering that we don't really have an elite playmaker (maybe just Mount) and he hasn't scored even 1 penalty.

It would be a huge mistake if we let him go. I hope he stays and gets enough mins to show his quality. He is a top player and he is only 24.

Interesting statistics Ashk. Thanks for the information.

You're very welcome Tom mate.

He can/ should improve a bit but I think it will come back to haunt us if we let him go.

For example, just look at AC. He was the 4th choice and we probably looked to sell him and now he is suddenly one of the best we have. Young players improve if they are given the chance and these guys certainly have the talent to do so.

Interesting stats Ashk. I would much like Tammy to be a CFC success story. I think he still needs to win over doubters and increase his own confidence though by getting more 'big game goals' against top opposition. He did score against Bayern in ECL but obviously tie already lost. He seems a really nice lad and comes across well in interviews, also an unselfish team player. Perhaps he needs to get a bit nastier, more physical and even a little more selfish. Channel an inner Diego Costa?

Give it up about Abraham : who does he score against? If he goes he won’t come back to haunt us; he’s no De Bruyne or Salah. As for AC he was fourth choice under Lampard. Most posters appreciate that he is a skilful centre back. When he was loaned to a German club a couple of seasons ago he was voted their player of the season and he has 38 caps for Denmark. I would always play him ahead of Zouma and Rudiger. As per Mark Twain: “ there are three kind of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics “. As far as Abraham is concerned, I quote that renowned Irish philosopher Roy Walker from his opus Catchphrase “ Say what you see, say what you see “.

Absolutely perfect jimbo couldn't agree more he is a mid table striker at best or back up to our main striker haaland when we get him
Name a top 6 side he would get in none
Aguero
Cavani
Kane
Aubamayang
Vardy
Antonio
Firmino
All better ings calvert lewin as well stop the academy biased he is ordinary at best.

Seems like some of you guys have already made up your mind about him.

All the players you mentioned are older than him and are in their prime. And this season Vardy, Firminho, Auba and Agüero haven't scored much.

He is young and he will improve any team.
I agree JBS, he needs to work on himself a little.

Just look at the team's he's scored against this season and you'll realise context matters when you look at stats like this.

Stats don't always tell the real story. TA can only be a a good back up for Chelsea but not go to go guy. he will improve with age. so iwould like him to hang around and deputise a main striker like Halaand who I feel is built for the league and an d if we are successful in bringing him in can lead the line for years being young. he obviously won't come cheap though but is worth the puntand if he hit the ground running asstats will suggest. imo we might need a cm who's creative. im ok we are just a few quality signings to become stron g again. A Halaand, return of Eden a, Frank kassie and then an experienced cb with some leadership qualities and we can challenge city all the way.

ilo I agree with your analysis although we have some good CBs coming through the system we need someone to replace Silva. I still am not convinced about our goalkeepers. Can we go all the way without a top class keeper?

Think attitude is a big part of the selection process, you have to want to be the best. He has refused to sign his contract with Chelsea. With the news of Haaland . he seems to have gone defensive rather than professional. Although I think I'd be a shame to lose him I'd wish him best if he leaves. AC has been a good example of bidding time and working hard. I'm sure Tammy will get better but it will take time and he has to decide if he wants to wait it out at Chelsea or go elsewhere. Lukaku did move out and has worked hard to get where he is today.

Good luck to Tammy if he wants to part ways.

It is a case of stats v eyes. Tammy's stats may seem ok but when you see him with your eyes he just doesn't cut the mustard. I would like to see the stats of how many times he's missed from good chances. Or for a guy of 6'5" how many headers has he won.

And if he won't sign a new contract he should just go - and who will be in for him? Man City? United? Barca? Real Madrid? None of these? Tammy will go to Villa or West Ham or Palace - because that is his standard.

02 Mar 2021 17:04:31
I agree dareryk, good luck to him if he decides to leave.

Of course we are not certain to sign Haaland.

So, Giroud could go to a club offering him longer than a one year contract and Tammy could leave as well.

Would be an interesting problem for the club to solve.

This club management lark must a difficult old game!

02 Mar 2021 18:13:45
Yes Tom if Tammy wants to go that’s up to him but he doesn’t deserve a big hike in wages. There is no guarantee that we will get Haaland and I think Giroud will move on. As you that that will be an interesting problem for management to sort out. That said, they are all on big bucks so they need to earn their money.

02 Mar 2021 18:35:15
The club will offer Tammy what they think he deserves and that offer will almost certainly have no playing guarantee. If it’s the the reported £130k per week that’s for the club to decide if that’s value.

I think Giroud will leave.

Haaland isn’t a given so welcome back Michy (joking) .

I also think two CH’s will be leaving but as I’ve said before that doesn’t mean we will splash the cash on replacements.

So, if TT is our manager next season he may well have IMO a minimum of four and maybe six new players to incorporate into the squad. That will be interesting.
